Early game snowballing caused by consolidated kill gold needs to be fixed before the next season

I just had a game that demonstrates how much of a problem this is.

I'm Vel'koz at mid against Ekko. We're both 1-0. We traded 4 kills for 4 kills at the first dragon. Everyone on my team gets one kill, while Ekko gets all 4 kills and shutdown gold.

The end result is that I come out with +300 gold, while Ekko comes out with +1400 gold. Ekko now has his entire first item and a stacked Dark Seal, while I only have Lost Chapter.

The game is completely over for me. Ekko can almost one shot me if I leave my turret, because he has such a huge advantage. He's free to do whatever he wants and I can't contest him, allowing him to go to other lanes and snowball out of control.

This basically boils down to the game being lost for my team due to happenstance. His team didn't strategically give him the kills, he just happened to get the killing blow on them, and didn't even contribute the majority of the damage. If he hadn't gotten all of the kills, the game would have continued roughly even, with both teams having traded evenly at that dragon, as it should have.

Fix this. Distribute kill gold from team fights better to stop one champion from snowballing off of a single otherwise even team fight.

As china just announced a game time ban of 90 minutes per day for young people, I doubt that we will see a reduce in snowball.

What did your teammates do with their advantages?

What did your teammates do with their advantages?

300 gold usually translates to nearly zero advantage in lane. It's not enough gold to buy another item on its own and it's unlikely to be enough to give you your first item power spike that early.

Their 300 gold is also irrelevant, because the Ekko can one shot them just as well as he can one shot me. We can't pool our gold to negate that advantage.

Your power doesn't scale linearly with the amount of gold you have. Crazy how that works.

300 gold translates to nearly zero advantage in lane unless it pushes you over the threshold for an item, as it's not enough gold to buy another item on its own. Your power doesn't scale linearly with the amount of gold you have.

I don't speak Dodging, but I'm going to assume all of that translates to "nothing" in English.

The real problem is the enemy utilized what they gained while your team did not.

No, the enemy team gained essentially an RNG advantage out of an otherwise even fight.

One of the largest problems this game has had since inception is how many generic stat sticks there are in the game with an overloaded passive/active on them considering the gold efficiency of it all.

Gold efficiency is supposed to go down SIGNIFICANTLY with completed/T2 component items. Passives/actives are supposed to be worth a LOT. They're SEVERELY undervalued in this game. Slot efficiency is hardly even a factor anymore because everything shoves raw stats down your throat so you can snowball with anything provided you have a gold lead.

This game isn't about buying the right itemization for the enemy comp anymore, its more about buying the items to allow you to kill them faster than they kill you.

Youre diamond, but I cant believe you dont understand that 300g does not mean 300g . Its more like 500g because you can push out another wave after killing you laner. Also, you get exp while your opponent loses out on extra gold and exp. in turn a kill is worth a lot more than 300g. 2nd, you didnt build any mr against a fed ekko, especially as an immobile caster vs a fed assassin. What did you expect?

That 300g allows you more beathing space to farm cs for free since you now have an item advantage. Ekko might jave gotten lucky getting 4 kills but, lets be real, you provably got 450 gold total sine youre assisting your team get kills in addition to your own.

Whats next, last hitting should give 1/2 gold to an ally that helps you get it?

You're old enough to use the internet, but I can't believe you're too illiterate to read. 300g means 300g when the entirety of both teams die at an objective, as the post explicitly states. You can't push a lane when you're dead.

Imagine being so bad at the game that you think rushing magic resist on a caster is remotely viable.

300g does not mean 300g.

You didn't account for assist gold and that kind of stuff as well. since your team was fighting near an objective, its almost impossible not to rack up some assists here an there. 300g is for the killer, possible 50 extra gold for each assist.

3rd, your situation is no different from previous seasons. Full kill gold (300g base) is always awarded to the person who last hits the champion. What's different from season 3 to season 9 now in terms of who gets the kill gold? You're complaining because you got hard smashed afterwards, because of a common scenario?

You're only complaining because you got trashed on by an ekko after a 1000g ish advantage. You didn't get last hit for any kills, so you only racked up 375 assist gold. Ekko racks up around 1,300.

"Ekko one shots me there's nothing I can do". You must be boosted trash ekko racks up ANOTHER kill on you at the 9 minute mark because you disrespect his gold advantage by trying to last hit a cannon minion in the MIDDLE of the lane on HALF HP. Like I'm actually baffled a diamond player can get baited by a cannon minion. 70g for me and 276 g for ekko? I think it's worth! Jesus Christ, you didn't get the last hit on the Cannon minion. Your cs per minute is absolutely terrible for a diamond player, like its so bad. Uninstall.

Oh and you were on 1/2 hp, he had to turret dive you for another auto after proccing his passive. Do you know what one shot means?

Imagine being so bad at the game, that you think getting one shot is better than getting 2 shot. Imagine playing the game for 5-6 years and not knowing that you get gold from assists too. Imagine playing Lux and getting smashed by Zed in lane, then making a Board's Post complaining that Zed is OP while you rush a Luden's Echo instead of a seekers vs him LMAO!

Oh btw that Ekko went 25/3/2. Seems like this wasn't really meant to be a discussion post, but rather a place where you can vent your frustration for getting dicked on. Ok, lets move on.

Then focus him. He now has a bounty, and is the primary threat. I dont see how this is an issue. Your team should have CC and utility for this very reason. If you dont, its on you.

On the other hand, the entire enemy team's gold has been effectively funneled into one source - Ekko. It also means now that ontop of having all his team's gold on him he also gets a bounty on his head, making him a huge target for YOUR team, if you are stuck under your tower (which is reasonable) your jungler SHOULD know to gank the lane with the highest priority (the one with a bounty that is pushed up to your team's tower).

So on one hand, yea in the 1:1 match up he came out stronger, however your entire team now knows that they can focus this 1 target and effectively cut the enemy's team gold by 1.4k gold + get a bounty for extra gold.

How would you fix this? make Ekko share his gold he earned for his kills with team mates who might not even contributed that match for his preformance in the first place?

He earned those kills, he gets the gold, gold distributions is another important tool players need to learn when playing.

Sorry but what? You do know that we had what you are suggesting before and you know what happened? Instead of having to deal with ONE fed enemy teams had to deal with up to FIVE fed enemies. It was literally even more snowbally before. When one dude gets fed you can focus your efforts into getting rid of that one guy who has most of the enemy gold. When everyone in one team has pretty comparable amounts of gold then it becomes way harder to deal with them when behind.

We been down that road before. It didn't work. It was actually worse. Instead of a single terrorist, you had 5 terrorists.
