Champion X isn't a problem if you pick champion Y isn't a problem solved, it is a problem evaded.

You can dodge tentacles and destroy them. There, Champion X isn't a problem in general anymore.

2 hits for a tentacle, Illaoi has Q and W. You can't dodge two thing at once without throwing yourself into the fray, you are being unrealistic. Imagine if Xerath had two Q's but relied on having a minion in the lane that he selects. Good fucking luck getting to that minion.

I play against her sometimes. It really isn't an issue for me. There's nothing unrealistic. Sure you can't dodge every tentacle. She would be broken and underpowered if each tentacle was easily designed to be dodged. But the scale on which you're describing is a little silly.

If you aren't clearing the area then you're asking to be smacked by all three as soon as the pop up.

I've laned against a Poppy as Illaoi and she dodged basically everything. I've fought Poppy's who couldn't dodge shit, so it's no a champion problem (give or take a few hit boxes) but a player problem.

You can dodge her and you should destroy her tentacles when you can. She's strong in her zone, don't let her establish it.

If you clear a tentacle you get hit and she heals. If you don't, she has more tentacles. If she ults you, she has double heals and you can't do anything about the tentacles. So why is the only answer, dodge and run away? Lmao

To be fair Poppy has some nice tools to use against Illaoi. Naming only one champion who happens to be a good pick against another champion doesn't really help you argue against the general statement of the opening post.

I didn't think she had good tools to be honest. Course I could also say I beat Illaoi with Sion .

Really as long as you can avoid her attacks (and every single one of her abilities is avoidable) and kite her then there really is no problem.

Honestly she could be worse. Her Q could automatically hit the Vessel if they are within range for example.

You don't think her W and E are good tools against Illaoi?

Her W prevents Illaoi's Harsh Lesson, can be crucial during team fights and dealing with her tentacles in lane.

Her E can be used to push Illaoi out of her ult area and stun her so she can't make use of her tentacles. It's also useful to turn the tables against Illaoi's Test of Spirit, quickly getting Poppy in range to attack her and push her away from the vessel.

Her Q deals % max health damage, which is great against champions like Illaoi who like to build bruiser/tank.

Even her passive can work to help prevent damage from Test of Spirit.

I'd say thats a pretty good kit to use against her.

I can fight Yorick with Darius too, but it's not even really a fight. It's just one of us fishing for damage unless we can cheese the other and snowball hard.

Yorick just point and clicks his ghouls onto you and you either have the ability to dumpster him before he eats your health, you get sent recalling, or you die. Illaoi gives you the chance to dodge her damage and champions with heavy displacements (Poppy) can throw her out of her ult.

She's so massively overrated by Boards it hurts.

Have you tried J4 in this matchup? I've had a lot of sucess beating her as him. And dodging the tentacles is quite easy as J4 especially if you have your EQ available.

I have not, I usually pick ranged because it is impossible to actually do anything against her as a melee. Somebody like Vlad, Quinn are usually go to because at least they can dodge and sustain through items/abilities.

Try it out sometime. It is actually quite fun and you can out trade her very easily! Plus J4 has so many different build options in this matchup. If you get an early lead you can go straight assassin mode and Demacia her ass into oblivion all game long. J4 shouldn't have problems farming in this lane either or poking Illaoi from a little bit of range using J4 Q.

His passive is very strong throughout the entire game and can be abused in early level 1-3 trades.

Try to hit your level 2 before Illaoi and land an E-Q-AA combo on her. This is devastating and you will more than likely drop her to half hp or force a health pot pop.
