I don't think it's hecharim thats the problem

It's crystaline flask. This item was the same reason why old kassadin was such a pain to deal with. The amount of sustain that it gives a champion in lane allows them to completely circumvent the weak early game that is supposed to balance their powerful late game.

Its almost impossible to try and bully a champion when they get that high amount of sustain in lane for such a cheap cost.
