I don't understand the Cass 'nerf'

It only impacts her early game, which is already non-existent. How does this change make any sense?

Her early game is good if you know how to play it. Especially her level 2 all in is seen by many as a cheese strategy. This nerf is meant to reduce that strategy.

No, it's not. Her entire mana bar at level 2 can do a maximum of ~620 damage before resists. This won't even kill most champions at level 1, and won't kill any champion with CC or mobility, period.

Maybe this is a problem in wood tier, but no remotely okay player will die to a Cass solo before level 6. We shouldn't be balancing around Wood V players.

I have seen King Cobra do this several times. So it works in challenger.

On to math stuff: Assuming she gets a non amped and an amped q off together with 7 e this gives her 565+4.93*AP. You most likely have about 40 ap so this means she deals about 750 damage before resists.

At level 2 cassi has 560 health so assuming the pen from runes balance out with the mr blues and the extra health from masteries balance out with the 21 the players will have in offense this means she has to deal 728 damage before reists. Throw in a couple of autos and level 1 harass and you can easily all in at level 2.
