Range difference. I'm pretty sure the only advantage Veigar really has over her is the 950 range Q compared to all of her abilities hitting around 600 range.

Yeah good point... Annie can harass you and damage you with her Q even if you are behind minions (and she probably won't be busy using it on minions all the time)

You know, there was a time where I would break out THE Final Boss in order to counter assassins like zed, talon, kat, akali, kassadin and the like. Now, the only time I play him is when im dicking around with my low level friends or playing urf.

I used to be able to play a mage that would almost force my opponent to stay in lane otherwise I would just stack ap all day. I used to be able to play a mage that could actually survive ganks WITHOUT busting flash or having a mobility spell. I used to be able to play a mage that could 1v1 almost anyone late game through sheer kiting and landing perfect stuns.

Now, all is a worse version of nasus that functions, as a walking ult, on the assumption that the target of your ult doesnt have zhonyas, mr, hp or a banshees veil

Agreed people overhyped his "lack of counterplay" because he was stomping all over the mobility meta in korea and forced people to actually think out their engagements till they got either zhonyas, banshees or maw/merc.

Because pushing R on the enemy AP carry and watching them accept death is the funniest thing I have ever seen in all of LoL. Annie may be scary, but if you build AP Veigar is a walking death sentence. His ult + Ludens I've actually been able to one-shot people like Lux, Kat, etc.

What lux/kat worth their salt doesn't buy that? It gives you 120 friggin AP for cryin out loud. It's not some random armor item that you ppl like to make it out to be.

If u want range, play Xerath.

His stun has more range and is vay easier to land. His Q has more range than that...

And even without saying that: Veigar stun range is 700, if u cast it without them beign in the middle chances are they will just walk out (still .75 warning particles and time to get out of them)

The question was Annie > Veigar, pulling Xerath into this literally serves no purpose. The fact is that Veigar has more range than Annie and there is no denying this. Personally I feel like they're different in a few respects and there is a reason for this, but people are still obsessing over "Annie can flash r, why is one of Veigar's basic spells not this strong?" and pretending that this is the only important aspect of the two champions.

AoE that happens to be a thin circular ring rather than a giant circle of cc like "Non-ult AoE cc" would suggest.

people definitely milk the relevance of his E range, now that it stops dashes, its actually useful now as opposed to before. Veigar is only a threat when he can kill you with his ult alone, or with a team to capitalize on his cage.

which is why veig is so unfun atm. He can't make plays on his own accord anymore due to the high amount of unreliability baked into his kit.

Veig missing his stun isn't like a lee sin missing his q, or a leona missing her snare, he is left extremely vulnerable to a counter engage while lee and leona can just walk away like nothing happened.

Well, if you have good coordination with your team, veigar is really fun, but getting that in soloq is so rare that its often not worth the trouble.

I play for fun and don't care if a character is not particularly strong. And personally, I find it more fun to play as a tiny, evil wizard with a Napoleon Complex over a 7 year old girl who summons pedobear.

Yea, I loved the rush the high risk high reward champs like veigar gave. Annie is too safe in every regard veigar risks himself in. Enemy is a mobility whore that could close a 1000 range gap in a split second? Annie can tibbers herself and have a good chance of stunning the twat. Veigar E's on himself and the chance of them landing in it are next to nothing. Also, in 1v1s, annie can opt to use her q to stun reliably, whereas veigar has to have them intentionally derp into his wall.

Veigar has always had higher single-target damage if you don't snowball+just farm with both of them due to his Q passive. Now he actually can poke with his Q too. Honestly they were more similar before than they are now.
