Ok so what if I'm adc and you're bard. Their sup is blitz, thresh, Leona, etc.
When you perma leave lane, I can't even stand in xp range, let alone cs. And when I inevitably get hooked/ulted/flashed onto/ganked/kalista gets an aa on to me and begins the Kalista train, I will die because you're not there. And then the boards community says I died because "I'm so cocky and toxic I tried to fight them 1v2".
TL;DR only roam when your lane can survive you roaming or you're going to lose the game.
I love all the Bard players blaming the ADC for everything. I feel like in choosing Bard they forget they are in fact a support.
You won't win the game if you spend all your time getting chimes and letting me and my adc harass the hell out of your adc. But feel free to think it's not your fault that my adc is fed and yours is now afk.

If your ADC is getting stomped in bot when you leave, you chose the wrong game to play Bard, or you shouldn't be playing Bard at all because you suck at it.

I honestly find Bard's identity as a roaming support rather funny, because Thresh and Blitz are both better at it than he is.
Thresh and Blitz have the tools to secure their ADCs dominance in lane, while Bard does not. Thresh and Blitz, then, have several more opportunities to roam. Then, Thresh and Blitz have much better ganking than Bard does - even if Bard gets his stun off (which is very unreliable), Thresh and Blitz have better CC and more damage to boot. If you wanna roam as the support, Thresh/Blitz and even Annie are better picks. The only advantage that Bard has over any of those is that he doesn't lose as much XP, which is kind of irrelevant when you consider that he's not gonna have as much XP anyway considering how shitty he is at doing what he needs to do.
Bard is kind of a failure.

I appreciate the humor that was intended with this post, but I disagree with the message. If your bot lane is having problems you should be there to help, not just roaming because "lol I'm bard, I'll do whatever I want"
A Bard in your team is a defeat sentence anyway.

Bard Adc new meta
So, from what I see, Bard honestly takes a lot more communication from the team than other supports and if you work together you can overcome almost any lane with bard due to his utility and relatively safe play-style. But this is only with team communication and coordination. Let your carry know you're going to roam, if you see they need you, run back to help, the chimes can wait...
