Garen against Nasus, couldn't make any of my damage stick to him, he just healed through it all.

Would appreciate some advice, because it was incredibly annoying to have my passive disabled every time he dropped a Spirit Fire on me, but he gets to just heal through everything without counterplay. I was able to bully him off minions for a bit but as soon as they got into his tower he healed it all back, and he eventually started just completely ignoring me because his own passive replenished any damage I did to him while he could easily disable mine and out sustain me.

I'd really fucking love to see Nasus's massive healing nerfed, but if anyone has advice besides whining for nerfs I'd appreciate it.

Oh and for what it's worth, I play Teambuilder almost exclusively, so counterpick advice won't help me.

Note. If he is using his E every time ur passive is up to disable it, He is doing one of two things. 1: Running OOM Like a Olympic Sprinter 2: Hacking Armor pen such as a item 3071 rush might help you.

Thanks for the advice. I rushed item 3742 first, maybe that was a shit idea. Xd

Welcome, I would get that later on, but it wasn't a horrible idea. Good Luck the next time you face this matchup

This is how I approach Nasus as Garen: Engage enough to get him to ult then run away. Save your Q for breaking his slow. Once his ult is down, and your passive has given you some HP back, re-engage and kill. Also: Early Hexdrinker isn't bad, since a lot of his damage is magic.

Other's might have a better idea, but this is how I have usually approached it.

Also... as annoying as it may be Executioner's Calling (later finished into a Mortal Reminder) isn't a horrible buy, as you can apply gw easily with your spin.

Learn to play against him. Aka practice.

You can't expect to dominate every lane, some are harder then others.

Nasus wants you to shove him under tower, especially when you are a melee champion with no ranged harass or waveclear (meaning you have to risk tower shots to try and harass him).

Learn to freeze the minion wave on your side of the map so he actually has to risk himself if he wants to farm.

Also, Nasus doesn't build armor penetration and Q counts as an autoattack, so Ninja Tabi are a good early purchase (after Phage or Claufield's Hammer, before finishing Black Cleaver if you are behind).

Nasus gains armour pen from his e

Nasus has a flat armor reduction applied to all targets within his E. Flat penetration/reduction is most effective against targets with low resistances since it's a great amount of their total resistances (20 is 50% of 40 while 20 is only 20% of 100, etc).

Nasus doesn't purchase percentage armor penetration/reduction (i.e. Last Whisper, Black Cleaver) or Flat Penetration (i.e. Youmuu's Ghostblade) in a typically build.

Hence, purchasing some initial armor (i.e. Ninja Tabi, Chain Vest) will significantly reduce his damage to you (which is primarily Q and autoattacks). You don't even have to build them into anything until much later unless you want to.

Besides, Ninja Tabi reduce the damage from basic attacks. You can't actually build anything to counter that damage reduction.

Any tips for that? I've never been able to control minion wave position without falling behind in farm (I try to get the wave on y side by avoiding CS so the enemies push it in. If I just go for the last-hit, it usually ends up stalled in middle or pushed to their side anyway)

Mecha MaIphite2 votes

Getting it stalled in the middle is still better than pushing it. If he's using his E, it means that he's actually pushing the wave.

Don't hit any minions unless it's the last hit, and try to avoid hitting too many minions when harassing him with your E.

If that Nasus kept using Spirit fires to keep your passive off, then he must've been burning through mana like no tomorrow. Once his mana was really low, you should've called for a gank, because both wither and spirit fire cost a lot of mana to use. Also, Nasus needs mana to use abilities, you don't. Try to harass away Nasus from the minions, so that you don't end up pushing the wave to his tower too much. Also, buy item 3123, will minimize his healing whilst fighting him.

Strawberrycocoa1 votes

He escaped ganks each time, but he definitely did blow through mana. Partially, my allies didn't wait for me to bait his ult out, or didn't come when I told them his ult was down. Maybe I should've been more aggressive when his mana was down than I was though, I threw Q/E on him then went back to farming until cooldowns finished.

The only champion ive had any luck with is trundle, simply beause of his ult in tfs makes it relatively easy to kill him in teamfights. The problem with nasus is that no matter how much you stomp him lane hes going to be useful at some point if his team can just stall he shares this trait with singed.

Its also funny how you complain about nasus healing when you yourself were playing garen.

Ive also found taric to be fairly decent against him, given enough mana cdr and frozen fist he can just perma cc and keep him off the adc long enough for him to escape or kill him.

Strawberrycocoa1 votes

Garen's healing gets completely locked out anytime he takes champion damage, was my problem. Dropped Spirit Fire on me, and I had no passive for 9 seconds. Only way to use my passive was to avoid him, which helped not at all. XD

Garen destroys Nasus easily. The key is to never hit minions with your E.

Yeah the extra dmg solo is amazing.

Play Sion

Play Sion

Sry ill be more specific.

Play sion. Just farm passively for your hp passive. In lanen whenever you have more minions than him and if u max E, you can EQW combo him and chunck away some of his hp. E rly gives a hard sting to him when u max it.

Don't let him breath once u get a headstart in hp. Poke him over and over, ward river if u are shoving.

Take grasp of the undying masterie and go take that 3% hp as soon as u can and soak minion dmg with W.

When laning is over and fights start, your only job is to peel nasus from ur team. No matter what. Just slow him. And Q him and pome him. Just peel him.

Let your team fight the rest.

Strawberrycocoa1 votes

Haven't done a lot of new Sion, I'll have to try him out more, thanks!

Stephenizgod1 votes

Save your Q for his Wither, try to freeze the wave, poke him with your E but try to not hit minions. Basically all you can do, a bad Nasus will feed you and a good one will stop you from killing him. If they are good harass them and wait for Jungler, if they are bad you will probably stomp them.
