How can Tahm Kench apply his passive stacks to Champions quickly?

I have trouble trying to apply my passive stacks to enemy champions to devour them in a timely fashion. I try hitting one for the slow with Q but they still just kite out of auto-attack range when I try to follow through by running up to them while they're slowed.

Just feels like to takes so long to get three stacks on a devourable enemy champion that its really easy for them to avoid it happening. Any thoughts?

its very quick. if you are far away from them, Q, walk up to them and auto auto Q, wait for the end of the stun, devour

if you are melee range to them, auto Q auto and instantly devour

no counterplay

It's because how powerful devour is.

Remember, counterplay is important to the game. Imagine if Thresh's Q went through minions, or had twice the missile speed with absolutely no delay.

The more powerful a basic ability is, the more drawbacks it has. Blitzcrank's Q has a mana cost of an ultimate at level 1, his passive relies on mana, and it has a high cooldown while he's melee, making him heavily punished for missing a level 1 Q in lane. If you removed any of those drawbacks, Blitzcrank would have lots more power available.

Do what you can with Tahm, work with your team to cover your weaknesses (don't be a Yolo Queue hero!), but don't think for a second that you shouldn't have to work for an undeniably powerful ability!
