Those of you downvoting Taliyah buff complaints, don't be so quick to downvote.
Especially in regards to threads about how Riot is buffing the wrong areas of Taliyah's kit, ie: Worked Grounds.
The reason why Taliyah is allowed to have 120% total AP Ratio on her Q is due to her Worked Ground mechanic. It is a way to balance her high burst damage if she lands everything on you, which is doable given the amount of disruption she can do to you while casting Q. Now, everyone thinks the buff is great because it allows you to spam a full Q since Worked Grounds will refresh earlier.
But, y'all are quick to jump on to a negative conclusion for those who don't approve of the buff. Why are some players complaining about the Worked Ground buff? Because eventually, some QQ-ers or Balance dummy will start nitpicking and complaining that Taliyah's Q ratios are simply too strong for a basic ability, whether you managed to land it all on one enemy or not. This also means eventually, the team will reduce Taliyah's ratios. This is a given, it's just a question of when.
Taliyah has great damage and I think the it pays off when you pull the right mechanics on her. Why she's very underwhelming now is because her E/W combo is extremely hard to pull off due to how clunky W works. Her ult while lacking damage, changes the tide of the game by putting massive choke points so theoretically, those of you aiming to carry with Mid Taliyah will find the brunt of her damage in Q/E mostly, with W as a set up.
So no, it's not about the damage that she lacks. It's QoL changes she needs, specifically changes that gives her an easier time setting up that awesome knockup from W in to her E. As far as her entire kit goes, everything about her is Sleeper OP. She roams significantly well for a semi-immobile mage, has one very very impactful utility.
If one were to classify our little earthbender as a utility carry mage, you are basically looking at a side by side comparison akin to Orianna and Old Karma. See Orianna and Old Karma all have high AP ratios to remain relevant late game, Orianna boosting a total of 190%AP ratio in her kit, Old Karma about 220% total AP ratio (including her dual casting Mantra). Taliyah sits at 220-240% total AP ratio. So it's not a question of damage, but a question of the reliability in her tools.
With the current way everyone approves of Riot's buff to Taliyah, it'll just make her much more sleeper op. And when she becomes FoTM, the ones who are at loss will be those who start maining Taliyah by then. I'd rather Taliyah's damage or utility remain untouched for now, and have the team tweak with her reliability and impact of her tools by improving her QoL.
