People on boards complain about how games are ending too early and steamrolling is not fun...

...as if such games weren't already common before.

On my opinion, games were already snowbally way before this recent patch. Especially after the changes to Dragon and Baron on the early fifth season, they made it much harder to come back if the enemy team kept getting objectives.

I remember the time that Dragon used to just offer gold to the team that would slay him. Although it no longer offers global gold, it still offers a bunch of bonuses that make the team that got it snowball much harder (AD/AP bonus, more pushing power, mov speed bonus) - It frustrates me to see how the bot lane is capable of determining the game's outcome alone due to this, because the bot lane that won the lane would allow their team to get early game dragons and allow them to snowball harder. So even if the rest of team was winning their lanes, they could still potentially lose due to their bot lane losing and allowing the enemy team to get free dragons.

The Baron Nashor changes also made it almost impossible to comeback if the enemy team got it. It is very hard to waveclear against a team with the Baron buff because of the minion bonuses, and they have so much pushing power, that even a support is capable of taking a tower alone. The only way to avoid this was to be able to get the Baron buff for your own team. In fact, this could be potentially game changing due to the bonuses - but getting a objective is extremely difficult when your team is behind.

Also, the early fifth season jungle changes made it hard for a lot of characters to jungle, and due to this, only a few champions were really viable at the jungle. They were early game junglers like Lee Sin, Jarvan IV, and Vi. They were back then what Yasuo is now, you would see either a Lee Sin, a J4, or a Vi on 90% of your games. Sometimes you would also see Rek'Sai. If the enemy Lee Sin was good, he could snowball a team alone, and this is somewhat still true as of now. Then the tank meta happened, and it started to favour teamwork much more, which was an advantage to late game teams. But a poor man's happiness doesn't last long.

Overall, on my opinion, games started to feel snowbally and too quick way before the season 6 changes. I don't know why people are starting to realize this just now.

All that you've mentioned are early season 5 changes. The thing is, these pre season changes were all added on top of that so you could say it got a ton ton worse. AD buffs and turret nerfs mean that the games will end 10x as fast (exaggeration ofc).

Exactly, that's why I said that games were feeling snowbally WAY before the season 6 changes.

I feel like it was just the right amount though until they added even more snowball potential.
