Why should a game only be worth playing 3 months a year

and the other 9 months it's complete trollshit infested garbage. Every season since I started playing I am completely stuck in whatever the fuck elo I start in for all time except for the last 3 months of every season where suddenly I climb a whole fucking tier, gold>plat last season and now deadstuck in gold, and why, because every fucking game is either complete retards on your team or complete retards on theirs, and don't give me that shit "If you're good enough you'll carry" because the current state of the game doesn't let you carry anything and its full of all sorts of people in all sorts of elo, so hey fuck maybe you're playing against an unlucky diamond or a lucky bronze, who the fuck knows anything is possible right now.

This game is giving me cancer right now. Fuck you downvote this shit idgaf.

The ranked system is a culmination of many factors. Generally speaking though, the cream will rise to the top, with all of that having been said it is very possible to have severely unlucky placements and be put into a tier far below your actual skill level. When this happens, some players become mentally blocked. Just like in any endeavor, your mindset plays a role in how well you will do... I'm not saying that if you're an asshole you won't climb, but rather if you believe that you're unlucky and that your teammates are all shit then it is more than likely that you will have a harder time getting out of the rut you are in. Eventually, skill shines through, but sometimes in a stretch of 30-40 games you can easily get stuck.

The reason you probably climb toward the end of the season could be that you finally push yourself harder than you are at the beginning. Maybe it's the sheer volume of games you play and the law of averages ultimately puts you in the Elo that you deserve.

While skill is the cornerstone to climbing, there is a small amount of luck involved and anyone that says otherwise is full of crap.
