I get to hear this more often than not.

Yes and you know what, I have a 6 month old daughter together with my wife who plays too! I have a fulltime job but I am one of the lucky guys who has some time to play at work and whenever the baby allows us I can play at home too. We like to play to blow off steam from the long days we have. Also I read that the average age of gamers is 35 years old, not sure it's true but still. Age discrimination is a large part of League and it shouldn't be. Not the kids calling out the older people and neither the older people calling the kids spoiled brats or anything. I've had enough 17 year old duo's that were actually great and very polite just as I have had my share of 23 year old raging and screaming at people to uninstall.

I'm a proud, working father who plays games whenever he can. Fvck you stereotypes!

There is an age discrimination in League?

...You know, I think it is mainly in the toxic players, who typically call the people that report them "12-year old babies". Just ignore, mute, report, and move on said toxic players. They aren't welcome in this community until they learn to be sensible.

I'm a74 year old man. I play a lot of league which helps me stay mentaly engaged. i have no family and am alone in my home 95% of the day with my dog Harley. I do other things such as read books, cook, gardening and walk Harley. These days it's more Harley taking me for a walk.

I'm a retired banker who has played and loved videogames since I first played Pong. Long live the mighty Pong! You see, to me, videogames are life. Or a part of them. I once thought I would grow out of them in my days of courting ladies but 40-50 years later I find myself still doing what brings me joy in life.

If your going to do something you love and have fun doing, then do it with love and make it about the fun. I recently started playing league but have played often these past few months or so. Video games are a part of life and the people playing them are real. Be kind to eachother and treat eachother as if we were face to face.

I don't understand the negative comments,don't understand what it's good for.

What I meant to say is that whenever age comes up, these are the most common responses. Not that my so called buddies say this.

I play with my wife a lot and sometimes something happens and we have to go and take a look at the baby, so we say sorry in the chat and people are all "omg you have a baby" etc. Then age comes up. Things like that.

Good on you sir. There is nothing wrong with enjoying games at any age. it's the same idea as someone watching football, watching a movie or reading a book. It's just a form of entertainment. I myself plan to play this game till I'm in my 40's or till I get tired playing league (whatever comes first) and that's just me. There is no reason someone who is 60+ years old can't enjoy playing a video game.

This isn't at all surprising. Video gaming is viewed as a 'childish' or 'no life' thing to do by most people living in Europe. Sure, most people have a console and play the odd Fallout game occasionally, but our level of gaming is frowned upon.

Do you know how many people here say: 'good for you', when they hear that I'm diamond? About a tenth compared to the people who say: 'you have a problem'. I'm married, have a home and a job. I do not have a problem, haha!

He first said that the post was a, and I quote "self indulgent piece of fluff" and some more stuff I can't exactly remember but he also said that I was at the top of having a first world problem, that's why I said he had a first world problem too if he had the need to be commenting on me.

In the second post he insulted me some more and asked me if I needed emotional support because I think he thought I was someone a bit more Annie instead of Darius.

Nah I was trolling and upset. I wouldn't waste time trying to reason with people here though. Most of them are like that from my experience. There are good people but idk how many of them you will get in the forums posting about your real life like this. My fault though for w/e I said. I was rude and am sorry. Well to be honest this is the first time I am getting negative responses on the NA forums, the EUW forums are full of negativity that's why I came here, up to this point everyone has been very nice and I really enjoy the NA forums, but in this topic some people are starting to make me pretty grumpy, maybe because this is the first topic I made that is not about the game but something personal.

Your comment about supporting my wife and kid better, that's exactly what I have been experiencing in game. Just random comments from people that don't know a thing about me, hoping to strike a nerve at random. Guess what it works, because it pisses me off to no end. And every dad or mom will understand why. Even though my 6 month old daughter is way ahead of other babies there will always be insecurities (I mean she hasn't won a nobel prize yet) especially with new parents and it's just plain cruel and hurtfull to hurl comments like that at people even when it's an obvious troll or just for the lulz. There are limits to 'it's just a prank' you know.

Still it's just really annoying when people try to act all high and mighty. You are basically no different than the possible hundreds of thousands other "adults" who play this game. You aren't breaking any stereotypes especially in this day and age!

Don't get me wrong. It's awesome that you are doing what you enjoy, but you come off as arrogant in assuming that every adult who plays video games is a no lifer. I mean as I said this day and age it's basically the norm. Had this been maybe a decade or two then it would be something to write home about. But not now a days!

If that wasnt your intention then my apologizes. Its just reading post like this just comes off as those annoying Streamers who needs to state their age, sex, sexual orientation, etc, as a means to get people to watch them. Most of the time people dont care. Stating what age, or sex you are basically has no bearing. and to me personally just comes off as attention seeking. So again im sorry!

Apology well accepted, I just posted it because someone called me a saddo and I had enough of it. I was just pissed so I made the topic there was no double agenda or anything.

I actually had a different topic title at first, but I thought it would make it sounds like I was complaingin, raging, tilting and changed it to something more positive, maybe a little but too much pride in it.

over 40 here, and I'm not into that lumosity garbage to keep my mind and reflexes sharp.

A good game of League is wonderful for all that.

besides, I've grown up gaming...nothing will change that.

The thing I miss from the days before consoles, computers and smartphones became our entertainment devices, was when you could stand around in an arcade, either kick ass or have your ass kicked in a game of street fighter & be able to shake your opponent's hand after the match.
