Why does the game start if a person never connects?... Makes no sense.

I'm tired of playing 4v5s where my ADC never connected. What is the point of these games starting? Wasting 20 minutes of 4 peoples' times resulting in a total 80 minutes completely wasted minimum.

Punish the person who never connected severely and send us back to queue. I've been in 3v5s before. I just cannot fathom why on Earth we still put up with this. If a person doesn't start connecting before the loading screen forces a game start, that person will most likely either never connect, or connect so late that your team is already disadvantaged.

Stop buying RP until they deal with this.

I'm pretty sure it starts because otherwise you're all stuck in loading forever. But I think it should just kick you all, not count the game, and punish the person for afk. If your connection is so bad you can't play (You can test it before you start the game) you probably shouldn't play.

Exactly what I want to see happen. If you haven't started loading at all before the game forces a start, you are probably never going to connect, or at least connect so late that your team is already disadvantaged.

Honestly they should just make it like COD for its connection stuff just have like a match lobby and when u have 10 people in it with good connections and only the match will start when all are connected. The matchmaking is still randomize and prevents anyone from talking to each other until the match starts. That's the only way I see solving this kind of problem.

The only problem with that is CoD doesn't match people based on skill, it's pretty random. And it makes one player the host, which always sucks.

I don't know about punishing the player for afk... Its not like they got into game and then had to leave. Sometimes the client is giving me the blues and I don't connect forever, sometimes my power goes out etc. Perhaps keep that person from queuing up until they've fixed their problem is the appropriate response, but its not always just an outright afk.

That's why there's a counter for it. If you're reported for afk once a month it won't do anything, but if you're reported 5 times in a week there's an issue.

I agree. 4 v 5 should never start. Doesn't matter if they connect late, give it maybe 2 minutes but then just restart the whole match. I rather loose the champ select time than 20 mins and LP for one idiot not connecting.

Yeah more often than not, if they haven't started loading before the game starts, they are never going to connect. Punish the fuck out of them if they are repeat offenders and give us a chance. I've never had a 5v4 but had dozens of 4v5s I don't understand it. Maybe for most people it evens out but for unlucky people like us I'd like a match of skill rather than a free win because someone didn't connect.

I don't even think it matters if it evens out over a season or not, it is meant to be 5v5 so 4v5 should never happen because its unfair no matter what.

They've said before that it's a code issue. But I don't see why they can't just call the surrender code and mark it as 'loss prevented', honestly.

Better than waiting 20 minutes and giving out real losses, right?

Idk.. I sorta like 4v5.... SOMETIMES..

Yesterday I met someone on boards and we decided to play together. we met a sweet garen player and we all won a 4v5 where our jungler connected late-game.

Surprisingly I was a 17/2 tristana so we were winning the 4v5...

the very next game.. OUR MIDLANE never showed up. and we won again...

Sometimes Winning 4v5s are a lot more fun.. x3

I can only immagine what the losing full team is thinking.. hue hue.

I have won 4v5s but that doesn't change anything. In fact in my match history about 10 games back I carried a 4v5 to victory. That doesn't matter. LoL is meant to be fun, and being unable to win is not fun. Assuming an even skill match up for both teams, you're going to lose the 4v5. It's especially annoying in ranked, but unfun and a waste of time in unranked.

I'd even settle for lowering the ff timer to like 10 minutes if someone never connected.

I think they're fun. I only play Normal games. Less stress. Good for figureing out ways to get better beforehand.

Still a lot of things I need to work on.

Team comp stratigies - Wombo combo < splitpush < Seige.

Rotations.

Using actives.

Map awareness..

Correct use of summoners..

Simple things I still need to work on but slowly getting them down. :3

during one 4v5 we noticed their team had a better wombo combo.. so im like "Im gonna splitpush" and I was tristana... it ended pretty well.

It's always unfun when you know it's impossible to win.. but fighting for that win is also a lot of fun! which is why I like 4v5 games because you just gotta try harder.. and like boomy on avatar the last airbender.. "You must look.. at the possibilities!"

Riot should honestly take some lessons from DotA school. There you have 2 minutes (I think, haven't played in a while) after the heroes have been selected, and if someone doesn't connect, the game doesn't start. It's simple as that - Did all 10 people connect? If not, cancel the game.

Yeah I think Riot has the best game by far. It requires skill, knowledge of champions, good reflexes, etc, but they have by far the worst customer support. They don't care about fairness or what should be common sense. They let some absurd stuff happen with their game.

I know, and i know I'm biased. We all know it's an issue, but im just rather annoyed how people can complain about something when they didn't even had it bad lol Heck, i had 4 AFK in a roll in RANKED games and I didn't bother posting a thread saying "im sick of this" lmao

1 out of 20 normal games and he is tired.

But yes, Riot!! this issue needs addressing.

How is a 4v5 not having it bad? You just want to be hateful for no reason. My point is that even if I was on the advantaged side without the afk more often than not, it still shouldn't be a part of the game. There's no reason to start a 4v5.

Or they can just allow a 5 minute grace period (pause), for the person to connect. And if they don't, idk. let people leave?

This is actually a great idea, but have a 3-5 min pause at the beginning of the game just in case the game crashed for someone. If they dont connect, make it as if they DC and restart Que

Why punish them severely, though? No harm, if the game resets, is there? Take a bit of lp or mmr off, sure, but if they are doing little harm with your system implemented, they are hardly doing anything that bad.
