Remember when everyone played auto-fill?
It was called pick order.
It wasn't nearly as big of a problem then because players understood that you have to be at least sufficient at every role to not feed uncontrollably at your ELO. Instead we now having a ranking system that is completely overrun by one trick ponies or people who play like 3 champions over 80% of the time. The second they dont get one of the 3 champs they know how to play, they completely fall apart and play like they are 2 full tiers lower than what they are. They are so completely out of touch that they cant even play a stupid simple champion like Janna or Alistar without losing their shit.
But wait! There's more! These will also be the first people to point to their rank as proof that they know what they're talking about when in reality they know jack shit outside the 3 champs they play. All of a sudden discussions about balance revolve around how the champ you one-trick does against them in lane instead of an objective discussion of strengths and weaknesses.
The general skill floor of the community has massively tanked as a result. People dont know shit about anything anymore. They'll cry tanks are weak when champs like Poppy with CotC are practically unkillable after 30 minutes. They think they should be able to tank an entire team for 20 seconds and be able to walk out. They think ADCs are broken when in reality they need like 10k gold in items to not get completely shit on without being peeled for. They think "nobody called MIA" is an excuse to ignore your minimap. Like what the fuck do you need an MIA ping for when the enemy walked over 2 wards to get to your lane? I could go on and on and on.
People are getting worse and worse at the game while becoming more and more biased. It seems like a completely alien concept that people are throwing this much of a hissy fit that they have to play support one in ten games. Here's a tip for you:
If you cant competently play support in ranked 1/10 of the time, YOU DON'T BELONG AT THE ELO YOU'RE AT
Straight up.
