Can we makes runes less of an IP sink?

Runes at early stages(t1) costs around 50 IP maximum, which is cheap and efficient. However, then you get to t3 runes, you can spend up to 2000 IP per quint. In other words, 3 certain quints prevent you from buying a 6300. Not only that, they don't even provide double the stats of T1 runes.

Can we reduce the costs of runes so that you can actually think about buying them without having all of your IP disappear right before your eyes? I would love to try other runes and I may even buy a new rune page( which if runes were made cheaper, it would make sense to reduce the price of these), but right now I have my hands tied because of champions I want to buy.

They're not an IP "sink". A "sink" is when you have so much of a resource, you're given something specifically to use it up. When you're still buying Runes, you're starved extremely hard for IP because champions use the same currency, which makes it the opposite of an IP sink.

Whoops. My bad then.

If only I had known that, since I'm not the best with words.

No problem, your point still stands.

One of the purposes of the rune system is a monetization strategy; in Riot's ideal world, you spend all of your IP on runes, and use RP to buy champions. There's nothing wrong with that, but that's why they're such an "IP sink."

It may seem ideal to the player who can buy RP, and to Riot, but not to the player who cannot. To the player who cannot, runes are overly frustrating.

I would love a huge reduction, but I'm saying lower the price , and not setting an example. They could lower it 10%, 50%, I really don't have anything to offer on that point.
