Your kind of dense aren't you?

Literally can hit your ult and e even with wind wall up and can easily bait it out to land your Q as well.

Vistha Kai11 votes

You can use Lux's ult through Windwall, but it doesn't mean you will hit it, especially against a guy like Yasuo. You can also use E right outside Windwall's effective range, but that effectively reduces Lucent Singularity's range by 90%, meaning Yasuo has to walk into it himself. Needless to say, landing Lux's Q on Yasuo again requires HIM to make a mistake or to be in melee-to-mid range from Lux without minions in range, but even so... what can Lux do, if that's literally the only damaging ability she has left?

There are infinitely better picks against Yasuo.

Frankly even my main girl, Syndra, who has pretty bad world-wide stats in this matchup, is still much better than Lux anyway, since she can consistently wear Yasuo down regardless of Windwall's status.

Wukong X Ahri4 votes

Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I personally find the match up easy.

Vistha Kai4 votes

Happens if your only samples are Silver 4 Yasuo players and inconsistencies of normal queues.

Jari5 votes

Can we not throw rank amount into this argument? He finds the matchup easy. Simple as that. That doesn't mean the Yasuo has to suck or the Lux is a 100% counter, it means he finds the matchup easy.

Nimble Manta5 votes

He finds the matchup easy because he's in silver, which is a pretty true statement. When I was climbing out of silver yasuos were pretty much a free lane because they all sucked.

Vistha Kai1 votes

And when you climb higher, Yasuos are free lane too, because ganking him is his hardest counter.

Only Play Darius1 votes

That's probably why he's moving toplane. So much less likely to get ganked up there and if you do get camped you only have to ward one path.

Vistha Kai1 votes

Not to mention, he's usually building bruiser while going top, instead of mid lane's glass cannon.

Vistha Kai6 votes

I know the rank argument is taboo, bad and god-knows-what-else, but that's still the most important thing here.

I've been to lower ELOs and I know first hand, how bad people can be playing champions like Yasuo, especially in this season, where the importance of ranks went down by a full Tier. The thing is, they can't play those champions for shit.

It's just like I said two posts ago.

Sure, Lux can use E closer, so it doesn't get destroyed by the Windwall, but the Yasuo player needs to be an idiot, to actually get damaged by it. Starting a fight with a Lux ult, is well, stupid in and of itself, unless Yasuo has no boots, Flash and minions to dash to, which again begs a question of why is he even standing there in the first place.

RoodToob2 votes

Its not (at least for me) about it being taboo. Its seems just like shaming. Yes, the Yasuos in silver are worse, but then so is everyone around him, therefore nullifying that argument no? Yasuo, at any rank, for the most part is a feast or famine champion. So either an easy win or a hard loss. Silver doesnt change that.

Sorry for generalizing, but easier to write that way

Vistha Kai5 votes

Yes, the Yasuos in silver are worse, but then so is everyone around him, therefore nullifying that argument no?

If that was true, every champion would have at least similar performance across most, if not all tiers.

No, some champions require more game knowledge and skill than others, making them at least unsuitable at certain ranked tiers.

Such as how Yi is a pub-stomper, but gets progressively worse the higher the rank goes.

I mean, say, Lux is a pretty straight-forward champion (with brain-dead poke, for that matter), while somebody like Yasuo can fail at every step.

Not defeding Yasuo players or anything, just saying how it goes.

RoodToob1 votes

But they do have similar performances, Yi currently does not stomp low elo. But when strong, he dominates everywhere. There are a few exceptions to this ( and yes, Yas might be one, I'm not sure) but overall even low elo stompers average across divisions. Now, they aren't the same level of performance, Yi is most definitely better at low elo, but even now he doesn't stomp like he does when he's strong.

But, doesnt yasuo have a easy base, so low skill floor, but a high ceiling, thus people do well in diamond+ with him?

Not trying to disagree, just want another view on this.

Vistha Kai5 votes

He doesn't have a low skill floor really.

One misplaced Sweeping Blade and you are dead. One wrong matchup and you can't get a minion without dying.

Jari1 votes

I've seen streamers in diamond+ Say that Poppy is the most broken champion, Jinx needs an early game buff, and that Zed needs to be gutted to the floor to unusable. Are they correct because they are diamond+? If a diamond level player came in here and said that Karthus is super broken, would you just go along with it?

Here, let me get you an idea. Yasuo's W has a decent sized cooldown. You can bait it out and then combo him later on when he doesn't have it. There's also the potential of ganks, since if he can block all of your abilities and your jungler with a single one, YOU were the one to mess up. I've even seen streams with high ranked Yasuo's wiffing their W on a bait, only to get bursted later down the line because they didn't have it.

Vistha Kai1 votes

I've also seen Diamond+ players intentionally feed, flame and AFK.

You see, the thing is a low ELO Yasuo is expected to fail, while diamonds are the most likely to outplay themselves and even if they fail once, they will at least try to not make the same mistake again, like falling for an obvious bait.

Regardless, I have no clue, what's your point here. I'm here, talking about low ELO Yasuo mechanics and you respond with how one or two Diamonds think Poppy is broken, whut?

Oh, and if a Diamond came and told me Karthus in his current state is broken, I'd laugh in their face.

Jari2 votes

My point was you dissing the point he had because he was silver, which is why I'm asking if he was diamond saying this stuff if it would be different. You even just admitted that players up there do wrong shit too, so the rank shouldn't matter. So stop saying stuff like

It would be.

You even just admitted that players up there do wrong shit too, so the rank shouldn't matter. So stop saying stuff like

But it does.

See thing is diamond do stupid shit all the time(but nowhere near the quantity and quality of bronze misplays), and a streamer may get tilted like everyone else(and some are basically known for it), so if you wait for them to get tilted at a specific game to prove your point, you are just trying to convince yourself that rank doesn't matter, but it very much does, chances are that said player won't be thinking poppy is broken a short while after that game is over.

Thing is for diamond player opinions, 70% is copy pasta(winrates/circlejerks/competitive play/etc), 15 %is idiotic nonsense and 15% is actually legit personal analysis.

For a bronze player 80% is copy pasta, 19.8% is idiotic shit and 0.2% is legit personal analysis.

Jari1 votes

My results aren't when they're tilted. If a guy is showing clear anger in their statement, I'm going to assume it's not their actual thought on it. I'm referring to streamers where they, say, say it's stupid how Poppy gets a ranged attack while being completely calm in it. Oh but I must agree, because I'm not up to his level and therefor I don't know what I'm talking about.

I know people are higher ranked because they know more, and I know a lower rank is more likely to be wrong, but he's stating his experience. Let it just be so, he even said to agree to disagree on it. He finds it easy, others can find it hard. I've seen diamond+ games where the one that counters the other loses.

Was he laning against poppy when he said that?

I know people are higher ranked because they know more, and I know a lower rank is more likely to be wrong, but he's stating his experience. Let it just be so,

That's giving him more respect than he deserves, and I'm not talking specifically about this case(though it applies here as well).

he even said to agree to disagree on it. He finds it easy, others can find it hard. I've seen diamond+ games where the one that counters the other loses.

Agree to disagree, especially in the way he phrased it, implies that it's just their words against each other and that both of their words weigh the same, they don't(and yes, it's very easy to play stupid here and say that wasn't implied, it was however).

Remember the "ur lower rank so everything..." thread?(I'm guessing you do, since this is basically the topic), the top comment being a comparison between a high school coach vs a professional one, continuing on that analogy, sure the proffesional coach can hear him out, maybe he noticed something new/can provide a new perspective, but if the professional one insists on his point you don't just stand your ground and agree to disagree, as much as your going to hate my for saying this: it's simply not your place to do so.

You can bring the opinion of other highly ranked players, you can prove him wrong if it's a matter of some binary numbers, you can call him biased/a liar(that actually can be a legit point at times), you can disagree with him and just say something the sort of "Well I'm not convinced, but you probably know better" or just leave, but you don't just stand your ground, as much as people here would love to believe otherwise, it really simply isn't your place to do so, as much as lower elos will hate this fact, your word does not weigh as much as his.

Vistha Kai1 votes

You even just admitted that players up there do wrong shit too, so the rank shouldn't matter.

You conveniently left out the fact, I said, low ELOs are going to fail and not learn from their mistakes, even if that's a mistake repeated 20 times in a row, saying shit like, "Omfg, stupid OP champ nerf pls, fuck this useless jungler".

While when a higher ELO makes a mistake, they usually think, "Hey, I fucked up, let's not do that again".

So yeah, rank does matter.

Statistically, on the bottom right side of the link provided above Yasou has 53% win rate vs Lux on mid. While normal mid win ratio is ~50% (very slightly below, so we can consider it 50%). He has a better win ratio vs Lux by 3%, which is equivalent to how much better champions win ratio get after buffs (IE: Shivana Q buff a while ago that now was removed for whatever reasons)

Furthermore, giving Yasou's difficulty and learning curve compared with Lux, we can easily come to the conclusion that Lux is one of the worst picks vs Yasou.

More like, Yasou is a counter to Lux than the other way around.

I was gonna say something about sample size, but 1390 games is pretty decent.

TheEdgeOfDestiny1 votes

I assume due to range and cc.

kile1471 votes

To be fair this does vary, while currently Yas beats Lux it wasn't too long ago she actually had a 54% win rate against him. I found that fairly surprising at the time since I considered the matchup pretty easy in lane as Yasuo, but I think her extreme range just made her too safe of a pick for Yas to reliably reach late game.

My guess is that once the Yasuo nerf comes they will end up a pretty even matchup again with him having the advantage early and her having it late.

Vistha Kai1 votes

I'm pretty sure that was back in the day, where Lux had literally no losing matchups.

I mean, when you main Ekko yasuo isn't much of a problem.
