And I don't feel compensated late game since his rations aren't the best. I mean Leblanc has better ratios on a lower cool down with way more safety. Also i never played more then one tank Ekko game so it's great to know a build I hated ruined one of my comfort picks. But yeah how do you build him? Personally I go RoA into zhonyas or abysal.

Yes, I do run a build without boots, though usually I'll build a t1 boot early on to not suffer too much. Usually I'll go for a kill if both hits of a Q lands (usually by kiting.)
It's very hard to explain how to play since it varies a ton based on situation.
