Can we finally get rid of ARAM only accounts?

by opening up the entire champ pool to everyone in game modes like ARURF and ARAM?

Everyone sees how they ruin game modes right? Well they've been doing it since the very beginning of ARAM and has been a growing problem since.

The game modes are supposed to be "All RANDOM", not "All of my OP picks"

These people are ruining these game modes

Stop trying to redefine "all" in the context of ARAM/ARURF. "All" in this case means ALL PLAYERS have random champions, not ALL CHAMPIONS are random for every player. If you think entire champion pool should be unlocked that's a different thing, but saying "it isn't all random" is not true because that's not what all random means in context. These game modes ARE "All Random" because every player is given a random champion. Think of blind normal blind pick, every player has the option of hitting the random button and it gives the player a random champion (but only that player). In aram it's like basically forcing all players to hit that random button and take that champion. From this it should be obvious what aram mean; all players get a random champion, and all players go mid.

I'm gonna repeat myself but, if you think the entire champ pool should be unlocked then good for you, just don't say the name of the game mode is wrong.

Someone is scared for their ARAM-only account

I really don't think that's what he's getting at. He seems more annoyed about Grammatical/Contextual meaning of the Term "All Random"

At no point in his post did he mention whether he things unlocking the entire champ pool is a good or bad Idea, he just wanted to say that the "All Random" Has a different context in actuality than "Randomly drawn from All the champions"

That being said, I would enjoy an ARAM/ARURF with a totally open champ pool and the subsequent Destruction of ARAM Only accounts

What Wimbledofy said is valid. The only reason he's so easy to down vote is because of his tone and attitude in delivery... but yes. It is very easy to game the ARAM matchmaking system, and even easier if you have a smurf with only your So-so to Instalock picks. Yeah, sure there are millions of accounts that do not do this, but for those that only play ARAM for this purpose, it is just unfair to the rest of the millions of legitimate "ALL Random" players out there. Seriously though, look at some player's match histories, and it is clear the system gaming is borderline abuse.

I've been there when ARAM was "created" by users. I was participating in one of first ARAM games and I also joined with ARAM rules enforcing.

What you say is full of shit & lies.

In aram everyone goes bot lane no one goes mid mid doesnt even exists

But ask yourself this question: Can you honestly consider it truly random if the only options available are the strong ones? It's obviously not all random champions if there are only 20 champions available to supposedly "randomize" instead of the 120+ there should be to truly make it random.

Personally, its unlikely that i will enjoy playing a champion that i dont already generally play.

I play about 25 champions in total, and there is a reason that i don't play the rest. Its because they are not for me.

Even though i own 50 champs, i still only use 30 of them.

So my opinion is a big no. I would stop playing ARAM if it got so badly fcked up.

I already get shitty champs such as garen, so i don't want to have to quit 90% of my ARAM champ select.

If your idea was applied, then the quit amount from champ select in ARAM, would increase by 20%.

So PLEASE NO.

... So you are admitting you are sorta part of the problem...

See also make it so that you have to be logged in and increase dodge time to an hour of logged in time to prevent people from dodging...

Well, he's right to some point, personally with my only account I buy only the champs I like to play, I would never buy an AurelionSol for example and wouldn't want to play him ofc, cuz I play ranked, and classic, played dominion, so I got all sort of champs - adcs, tanks, etc, but just ones I'm at least minimally comfortable with playing anyhow, but there are champs I just can't play anyhow nor it's enjoyable

See, you're not allowed to do this. According to the "OMG ARAM ONLY SMURF" cry-bads, if you unlock only champions you want to play, that gives you an "unfair advantage" over the OCD autists who must unlock every champion in the game. Even though there's no rule that states you're any some obligation to unlock every champion, the "OMG ARAM ONLY SMURF" cry-tards are going to throw temper-tantrums until you're forced to play champions you don't want. Because Fairness and Reasons. You will be forced to play the game the way they want to play, or you won't play at all. That's the end game.

I mean, if only wanting champions you actually like on your account is problematic then I guess you're right. Personally I don't believe in demonising people who like to have fun.

I main mages because they interest me most as a concept. When my boyfriend was introducing me to League he showed me exclusively mages because he knew that was the kind of thing I liked. As a result, my account is primarily filled with mages which are primarily very adept in ARAM. I play a fair bit of ARAM (less than Rift overall but recently leaning a lot more towards ARAM because of anxiety issues) and if I knew there was a majority chance that I'd roll a champion I don't like in ARAM versus champions I actually do like (I've probably unlocked about a third of the champion pool and have no real interest in the vast majority of remaining champions) then I'd probably stop playing. I don't think I should have to stop playing a gamemode altogether because I happen to have a kind of narrow range of champions I find fun.

ARAM smurfs are real, absolutely. I'm sure I play against them all the time, and myself and my friends often identify them out of curiosity after games with them. But giving tons of innocent people a good chance to be forced into playing champions they don't like is a good way to make people stop playing random champ select modes altogether. I don't want to roll someone like Xin Zhao in URF no matter how high his win rate is and if I've been smart enough to avoid making that a possibility I'm not sure why that should be taken away from me.

garen isnt bad on aram, he just doesnt have a long range skillshot which is probably all you care about

Whether this is a good idea or not is irrelevant. Riot will never get rid of ARAM only accounts because it drives up their subscription numbers. If Player X has one "regular" account and one "ARAM" account then that person counts twice in their subscription base. Since that number drives their bottom line it will never happen. Even if it only cut into their apparent player base by 5%, they would never do it, it makes no business sense.

Actually I think it has a lot more to do with ARAM only account making Riot more $$$. When these accounts are created, the champion pool must be built up and I highly doubt people will farm IP for this. They are going to purchase RP for their champions and probably for skins too. Riot is making far too much money off of this to justify removing it from the game.

Maybe if they were to create a better way to generate revenue that would cover to loss of ARAM only accounts.........then we might see the end of this.

Until then..........don't hold your breath mate.

If Riot unlocks the entire champion pool, players with a small champion pool wouldn't be able to earn keys or chests on champions they do not own. And the chance of getting something you don't own is big. Essentially, fixing a problem like this and then creating another is not the way to solve things correctly.

I can already see people saying hextech chests and keys don't matter because this is for the greater good however, everyone should be eligible for what's intended by Riot and not paying the price for "getting rid" of ARAM accounts in such an aggressive way.

Owyn4 votes

Players wihout big champ pool were always screwed by hextech implementation, nothing'd change.

Elikain1 votes

In what way were they screwed? Getting picks from their owned champion pool as opposed to randoming something they don't have and getting nothing?

I don't see it your way at all. Even if someone would to make a specific mode account and buy all the "OP" champions, those OP champions don't have the same value. So randoming a champion out of your own sized champion pool as opposed to the whole champion pool is a nice way of bridging the gap on people constantly picking the same champions over and over again and people rarely getting chests and keys because they don't own a champion in question.

CithriaC1 votes

I think he means that if you have a smaller pool then you have a higher chance of getting a champ you already got a chest in.

Mast3rShake1 votes

Not getting free crap isn't paying a price...

Elikain1 votes

That's exactly what paying the price means. People with smaller champ pools, when Riot opens the entire champion pool, would have a lot less chances of getting something they own for keys and chests and even then, it can random someone you already have the chest on. Most people don't have all day to sit and play ARURF to roll a pick like that (and then as well earn an S- or more).
