How TF are people already saying the changes are awful?

  1. Elder dragon change is largely beneficial. Getting elder generally was already a win con. On top of this, Elder was straight up better than Baron because it gave more tower damage, so there was no reason to take Elder over Baron if both were on the map. Now teams have to choose. If ahead, you can take elder and force a teamfight or you can get Baron to push. The same thing goes for the team that's behind, it's no longer a "Elder's on the map let's do that", it's an actual choice. Also, "oh no execute is broken"-this is the same elder spawn as the 35 minute one. Most games won't go that long and don't go that long. If it gets to be that long a game, new elder helps end it faster. I don't see the issue here, plus now it's not based on dragons so the team that's behind still gets use out of it.

  2. Damage is generally being lowered. item 3161 is gone (I'll discuss cloud later). Conquerer will no longer have true damage, so tanks should come back, and Mountain drake now gives MR and Armor. I really see damage generally going down.

  3. Dragon souls. I really see where people are concerned about Cloud Dragons soul being a passive item 3161 but I really think that it's much better. Getting 4 dragons means you have to actually get all 4, meaning one team might not get all of them in any game. The chances of getting 4 are low, and if any enemy team gets 4, that probably means you were heavily out macroed. I could see it being an issue but I don't think it will.

I really don't see why people are whining about the changes already, they seem pretty fair to me. You can disagree of course, but I really see this generally being pretty positive.

Every change will upset some one. Upset folks are consistently the most vocal. Wait for the next patch, keep an eye out. I expect some ones gonna show up and Bitch about Pyke getting nerfed and with in a few threads some one else will bitch that he did not get enough of a nerf and some one else is going to shout that Riots stupid because they nerfed the wrong things.

Just got to filter out the emotional folks and look for people who are logical if you wanna have a decent conversation around here.

I really hope we get a way to control the dragons we get in a game. Let us vote on the types of dragons we want to see in the champ select screen, or let the jungler control which dragon shows up using special bait/shrines or something. Dragons should also despawn and cycle if left alone too long, so you can wait out a dragon you don't want and come back when you're going to get the buff/soul/terrain that suits your team better.

Otherwise, I think this patch looks amazing.

Actually, in the live stream they said that there should be at least 3 differing drags per game, so that means there's only one you won't get at worst.

Im neutral on the map/dragon changes.

But my mind is just blown that they're actually nerfing Jg xp again AND buffing solo lane xp.

If you thought jg difference was exagerrated now next seasons gonna be even worse, successful ganks on solo lanes will naturally put the ganked laner even further behind now, and the Jungler who didn't gank first will now be even further behind the solo laner who got ganked making his gank less impactful.

The really want to make jg an autofill role that tries to influence lanes for 15 minutes then becomes a support. The JG role already lost a ton of its mid/late game agency/impact on the game this season and theyre actually nerfing the jg again? Mark my words if there isn't some compensation for the jg xp nerf (faster camp respawns for example, something,) jg w/ flat out become the most autofilled role which will reduce game quality in those games even further.

I just can't understand their thought process.... The solo lanes are already arguably the 2 most impactful roles and certainly the most popular roles, as well as having the most resources in terms of gold/xp, and riot is buffing that xp.
