Making Diana viable/decent

Change proposal: E: Moonfall: Diana pulls all nearby enemies to her, and slows them for 2 seconds. If an enemy is affected by moonlight from Diana's Q, they are stunned for 0.75 seconds upon landing and the moonlight debuff is removed from all enemies. (For comparison, Riven's stun is 0.75 seconds)

Explanation: In my opinion, Diana is an excellent assassin. She has good counterplay, great damage, and is high-risk high-reward. Diana isn't an assassin though. She's this AP fighter assassin hybrid. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. She's kinda like an AP hybrid of Lee and Riven.

Assassin Diana is perfect the way she is, but if she falls behind she isn't really viable. She'd be better suited building tankier items and trying to help her team. I want to make bruiser Diana viable by giving her a small amount of CC to let her engage for her team, peel for her carries, and donate kills more easily. It would also be a slight buff to assassin Diana by giving her a tad more power pre-6, and helping her escape after assassinating someone.

Diana doesn't need more damage or range or mobility in order to be viable. That would tip her into overpowered. Diana needs versatility, so that in both games she does well in and games she does poor in she's effective, not just one of the two. I think adding this slight additional CC will give bruiser/tankier Diana the viability needed to make Diana as a whole viable, and it's only an extremely minor buff to assassin Diana.

Good suggestion but for it to work you will have to rework her ultimate as it is right now it resets all the moonlight debuff from all units. Even the ones that didn't dash for.

Maybe add a second defuff something like moonshine that will work with her E so the Q will give both debuff and her ult will remove both debuff from the dashed target but only moonlight from the other targets, and only reset on a moonlight target dash.

That's kind of the point. You're supposed to have a choice between either damage and gapcloser or stun, not both. If you could do both, then assassin diana would be buffed and become too strong. But with bruiser/defensive diana she doesn't deal as much damage, so the stun would be more valuable to her. I'm not looking to buff where diana is already good, just allow her to be better in a different area.

well then i guess you coudl Q, dash, Q again and the E. Again without a gap closer that stun seems pretty hard to hit and most of the cases not worthy, Riven stun works because she can either E or Q towards you

You would need a lot of CDR for that to work, or to be relatively tanky so you can survive while you wait for CDs.

The way I would go about it is build something like randuins and then ult -> q -> e -> rand for an AOE knockup/stun which is a 1.25 second disable total (e has about a 0.5 second displacement disable) followed by a massive slow. Then thanks to my guaranteed CC my teammates can land CC of their own/apply AOE damage to win teamfights. From my experience as MF that simple engage would be enough to channel the majority of my ult in their face.

Nice, simple, reliable.

Or alternatively what you can do is q -> ult -> e and stun if you ult to someone NEAR the moonlit person but not the moonlit person himself. It only removes moonlight if you ult a moonlit person after all ^-^

Good suggestion, except it will never proc once she is 6. as the moonlight debuff is used to reset her ultimate. And id rather reset a 22 sec damaging gap-closer than stun for .75 secs when E already technically stuns them (pops them up)

Diana is one of my favorite champs but she does not need any buffs.

The shield orb buff and passive indicator were great she has already seen a solid win rate improvement since.

If anything people are going to be asking for nerfs after her pro play.

since when is diana not viable??

Sure, she was played in the world championships just today, but those don't count because she wasn't picked by the LCS teams prior to this tournament!

Step one: build Luden's echo and an armguard... GG :D

But seriously, Luden's echo on diana is crazy strong.
