Rito said they are gonna implement a training mode(or practice mode i can't recall clearly) where it's basically sandbox mode and you can do whatever you want in it, and you can add bots in that game mode too. that is probably why they removed bots in custom games. Replay system already arrived, this mode will probably come soon too, don't worry about it.

Merbstrom1 votesThe client is only in beta still, they probably just haven't implemented the interface yet. Same reason why you can't join custom games yet. (or they're cleaning up some pocket spaghetti) You can still use bots in the Legacy client and since the client and the actual game are separate programs so you shouldn't worry about compatibility, because it's already implemented. Give them time, it's hard writing programs of this scope.
