Is Janna overpowered

I play her some and have noticed a high winrate but she seems rather fair and balanced. Maybe too much move speed but not overpowered. Thoughts?

no shit she is overpowered.

they try little nerfs here and there, but her kit will always lend itself to her being overpowered in my opinion.

Janna is the definition of anti-fun. she disengages so ridiculously well and shields/heals whoever you go for that its impossible to kill someone she is protecting.

there is a reason janna/lulu comps are a thing. any adc with a janna/lulu is basically a monster. seriously try it some time. just get an adc with average mechanics and positioning. give him a good janna. watch him carry.

Janna needs cooldown nerfs or something. I'm not even sure how you nerf her because she is clearly overpowered, but like champions like Lux its hard to point out why she is broken.

Well janna's reason is just that she's too reliable, that's it not so much OP.

If anything is nerfed too harshly it'll cause janna to be trash because if her reliability is hit at all all of her synergy goes down the drain, that's why I Hope its just buff nerfs she gets instead of CD hits or distance/duration nerfs. Like what they're currently doing and shaving 10 AD off her buffing.

janna's winrate is correlated to the strength of adcs in the meta. atm, strong adcs can solo carry games. janna does everything adcs want, multiple disengages, shield, heals, ad and ms boosts.

She has had a winrate ranging from 51% to 56% fairly consistently for a very long time. That might not seem like a lot, but when your winrate is over 50% regardless of the meta, I would personally argue that you're too good. The same goes for AmumuAmumu, who is almost always in the top 5 highest winrates. Looking at his winrate history, the only time it had a noticeable drop was in January 2015. Even then it was around 51%.

I'm not saying they need hard nerfs, but maybe just a few small decreases to their numbers. Just a little.

Amumu has a high win rate due to low pressure junglers being played in low Elos such as the devourer shit. So he doesn't get punished due to all the other junglers more focused on farm rather than pressure and invasions.

A healthy win rate range for damage dealers is 47-53%, for non damage champions it's 47-56%%, because you have to factor in that a lot of thier success is coming from bei pared with certain overly strong champions

For example Janna is a very strong support for a Draven due to the sheer damage he ends up putting out from a single ax because of Janna E

Janna has been a god tier support throughout literally the entire game's history. Janna as a support simply does well in every meta the game goes through, and is even banned a fair amount in Plat4 and up because of how strong she is.

There's also the consideration that Janna is a pretty easy support to learn, with a pretty high skill curve.

Weather this means they should be nerfed, or if other champions should be buffed to her level is another argument.

I think support itemization and mastery changes will come in the future though, which will more than likely be followed by nerfs to janna to compensate a bit.

I think we can says she's strong, but not for the reason people think she is. The META is mostly in favour of champs who kills their targest in matter of seconds ( Rengar Zed Talon ) or champions who have strong gap closers.Because she's the queen of peeling and srsly good at it,she'll be always good as long as those kind of champs are strong.

If we saw more of mages, she wouldn't have such a high winrate.Imagine if Xerath Brand Syndra her disengages would be less good because mages don't need to come too close, they can delete their target from far range.

I could be wrong though...

Janna is strong because assassins and engage supports are popular right now as well as ADC being a bit overturned with the item changes (riot won't admit it though)

So instead of nerfing the problem they need the symptoms (Ramus, malfite, naught, and now janna)

I think her cooldowns are too short. I broke the Caitlyn (or was it Lucians?) shield? She has it up in like 3 seconds. Can't really kill him in that time before she puts another shield up since this is early/mid game.

I think her Q needs a slight cooldown increase, being able to stuff engages is good, being able to singlehandedly stuff chases by spamming it is not, it makes her incredibly oppressive when her team gets a slight lead as you will almost never catch up to those 50 hp carries that just wrecked half your team. Otherwise I have no issue with her.

TBH janna is more of a case of "Too Reliable" she isn't really op at all but by far someone who you'd rely on

Janna is OP but in a "good way". You don't feel THAT bad after losing to team with Janna than team with freelo overbuffed pleasure toys Riot makes.

Imo having OP supports is better than OP ADC/MID/TOP/Jung

I'd much rather see a Zed on the enemy team than a Janna.

At least I can ignore the Zed if I play the right kind of champion, or even kill him. Janna makes it almost impossible to kill her carry and is the single safest champion in the game.

Janna is more freelo than Zed, Fiora, Yi, Mundo, Jax, Nautilus, or Xin.

They has a lot of options which makes her strong in the right hands. But she needs a rework cause these years of nerfs after nerf is starting to take its toll.

Disengage never falls off, unless mages somehow made a comeback.

She's OP not only because of plain ol' disengage, but also the range + effectiveness of her shields altogether that makes Janna, a champion as a whole, OP.

Though I'll see how that -4 AD on shields turn out in the long run. Otherwise, currently, no matter how smart enemies can be, Janna easily wins because she is still rather overtuned.
