Counterplay = weak champion

How the hell is this now how the game works? If something had counterplay in the current meta it’s weak.

Hence why we are stuck in this situation of “team with most s tier picks auto wins”

How is this healthy gameplay? How is this an acceptable meta? Better yet. How can riot fix this?

Because runes and items let a champion specialize into nearly any role so long as the kit has few to no weaknesses.

It's not.

Let's look at LeBlanc. The counterplay to her is manage the minion waves well (freeze or hard shove to avoid dangerous interactions), buy MR, and outscale her. You can also outtrade her in extended scenarios by walking up to her sigil and trading with her afterward.

So why is she so strong? Because her strengths are too overwhelming at the moment. Her fast, forward style is overwhelming and she has a lot of safety.

If counterplay is too pronounced and easy to play against (i.e. Lux), yes they'll be bad. These champions require kit work. However, most of the champions in the game have pretty obvious counterplay that people elect to ignore and most champions just need some numbers tuning.

You litteraly just said the same thing as my post. Less counterplay stronger champion. More counterplay weak champion.

No, I'm saying while you're right lots of counterplay generally makes a good champion, good champions are often defined by how valued their strengths are in the meta rather than how much counterplay they have.

Camille still has pretty low counterplay, lower than almost every jungler (she's still playable), but she's not nearly as good at the moment as the more peelable Xin or the "just dash out of his ultimate" Jarvan.
