Dark Sphere damage: 50 / 95 / 140 / 185 / 230 > 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230

Dark Sphere mana cost: 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 > 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70

Mana per damage at level 1 goes from 0.8 to 0.72, which is significantly more than the pre-nerf value of 0.57 mana per unit of damage but still an improvement. Her Q does worthwhile damage again but the mana cost being higher from level 1 until you level it twice makes her early laning less oppressive than it once was. Finally, the reduction in the mana cost late reduces her crippling mana issues as she heads into the mid game, because 10 mana off a spell as spammy as Dark Sphere is quite nice.

tl;dr this change makes her Q feel good again, but means you can't spam it early like you once would, in exchange for having a little bit more mana than you once did as you head into the mid game. Seems like it accomplishes everything Syndra needs while not returning her to the insane lane bully she once was.

I don't think that's the issue with her kit. Her ultimate is so absurdly powerful in terms of raw damage that poking an enemy once or twice with spheres allows her to execute you with a her targeted ultimate. As long as her ultimate is what it is, pure, unfiltered obscene damage, she can't have more power in any of her other abilities. She needs to have her ultimate's damage readjusted and utility added to it. Then, we could look at buffing (or un-nerfing, that is) her other abilities.
