Muramana->Tank on New Ryze?

Now that all three of Ryze's basic abilities are single target, and have low AP scalings and CD's, would Muramana into tank items (likely getting an early Frozen Heart) be a viable build? As I see it,

Pros: Hybrid damage Likely the highest damage single offensive item build Ryze has (Seraph's Embrace might beat it) Tankier than standard Ryze builds

Cons: Hybrid damage Lower damage than standard Ryze Pretty bad until Muramana Burns through mana very quickly

ok so from a D2 friend of mine who mains ryze: item 3042 item 3040 item 3027 item 3100 (not in this order) is the dream build on ryze, because you go through all his rotations, proc all that damage from muramana, have 5k mana, have a shit ton of AP, and after all that, theres about a second where you can do an autoattack and deal a shit ton more damage with spellblade+muramana+you have 5k mana so shit ton of AD.

or you could just build seraphs?

seraphs wont trigger the bonus damage rapidly for tons of bonus damage

Interesting.

item 3042 AD per mana

item 3110 Mana, armor, CDR

item 3025 (Strong recommendation) Mana, armro CDR (caps CDR) Spellblade

item 3053 (Possibly strong) Health, +25% base AD, Passive (+50% base AD and shield when active), (Works well with sheen passive)

item 3800 (Possibly strong) Health, Mana, Eternity passive (consuming mana helps to restore health, absorbing damage helps to restore mana, which also works to increase effectiveness of item 3042's active)

I feel this is so far missing MR, but there are no items that give MR and Mana. Maybe just getting item 3111, or going more offensive with item 3139 or item 3001 ....

Either way, worth looking into.

Not sure if you'd ever have time to autoattack with Ryze, so the Steraks and Iceborn don't make much sense.

Ah, I see what you're getting at. I was confused because I had forgot that Muramana's active applies on single target abilities as well. I would still really consider keeping Iceborn because it does give one of the highest amounts of mana, a decent amount of armor and 20% CDR, but I can agree that Sterak's is a little out of place. Although the health and shield still sound good to me, and if you ever do manage to sneak an auto attack in, it would hurt a bit more. ... Plus it's a pretty cheap item.

Are you wanting to avoid AP?

Insofar as to be as tanky as possible with a single damage item - if it wasn't for the fact that MS Quints are good on Ryze, I would take AP Quints. Kinda like how when tank Ekko was a thing, he wouldn't get much AP despite having good ratios.

The downside of this though is that I don't see this being any stronger in general than any other 'AD blue build' unless you have some AP to give additional mana from his passive.

It's worth considering because you can spam spells faster than you can autoattack, even with 2.5 attack speed. Due to Ryze's Q refreshing with W and E, QEQWQ can be done very quickly and will apply Muramana 5 times, if you have it.

Why not just go modified version of old s4 Ryze but with Muramana instead of Seraphs?

item 3042 item 3152 item 3027 item 3110 item 3111 item 3001

Because I'm fairly certain that Seraph's > Muramana on Ryze once you allow yourself to get multiple offensive items.

have you done the math?
