They clear faster, have stronger ganks, and can force an early lead for their team. For a ranged champ in the jungle to be incredibly relevant, they either need lots of kills fed to them early or they need a very long game where they can farm up to fed status. This is of course assuming they don't get counter jungled and ganked every other minute.

Haven't you realized it yet, ranged champions in this game do everything better than melee champions do on top of being ranged. They lane better, they have better late games due to VS/LW, and since the addition of Gnar they also make better tanks
Melee can't siege towers, melee can't defend towers in a push, melee can't teamfight unless loaded with AOE CC, if you're a melee dps champ you're better off splitpushing since supports can keep you useless for days, hell, even if you're a tank you get melted due to how broken pen is
