Once again Riot is nerfing the core identity of champions and not their excessive strengths

Take Yasuo for example. His main theme is Wind, and he revolves around wind techniques and shields to fight and dashing around using wind techniques only he mastered, but instead Riot nerfed all of that and kept his excessive double crit passive. Yasuo does not need that whatsoever, it's not his core identity at all, and he needs this double crit removed and a revert on all his nerfs from the past. You can also rewatch his champion spotlight and at the beginning they say what he is and his main theme with no mention of "Double crit is most important!"

Now take Zed for example. They also nerfed his core identity by taking out his huge outplay theme with shadows by creating a one second delay on his ultimate rather than nerfing his excessive strengths like wave clear, split push etc. They instead took out his core theme of dodge and out playing with shadows. Riot even stated in the champion spotlight: "He relies on sending out living shadows that mimic his abilities that allow him to reposition mid fight and quickly strike down his foes. When expertly played, Zed can kill his opponents before they know what even hit them". NOW THAT'S what his identity is. Not going in and having to wait a whole second and getting completely CC'ed or bursted by someone else. This makes Zed so predictable and it makes him even more limited even though he is ult reliant. No where does it say that Zed needs to wait to reposition himself in fights, he should be able to do it instantly, not wait

Tl;dr: The Zed nerf needs to be changed back, it's the wrong direction in changing Zed. You need to keep his identity. Instead you should look at his extra strengths like wave clear and change his passive so it doesn't work on minions just like Ekko's W passive which only works on champions. Zed is an assassin, not Ziggs.

Take Yasuo for example. His main theme is Wind, and he revolves around wind techniques and shields to fight and dashing around using wind techniques only he mastered, but instead Riot nerfed all of that and kept his excessive double crit passive.

Yasou's double crit passive is far from excessive: At 50% crit chance with IE it takes him to 225% damage where everyone else with no AA steroids will do 175% damage, and 225 happens to be 28% more than 175. So he does 28% more damage than another champion that doesn't have any AA steroids at all. Which is super uncommon - more than 50% of all the tanks, fighters, assassins, marksman, and supports come with an AA steroid in their kit, often equalling or surpassing Yasou's best-case AA potential. I mean - Janna comes with a +55 AD steroid, both champions need in excess of 197 AD for Yasou's steroid to be better, which is essentially 3 major items in and level 18. The average game ends with 11k gold per player, which tends to break down to three major 3k items, 1k in boots, and 1k in the bank when one team looses the final fight.

If a support does more AA DPS than Yasou for the majority of a game with better range, accesses that full AA steroid at just level 9 rather than with an IE+Shiv+runes combo, and has more optimal build-paths to pursue than AD adventures: Yasou's crit passive is far from excessive.

Yasou's crit passive also does have a bigger impact on his melee ADC / light fighter playstyle than anything else in his kit. It's one thing to look like a wind guy, it's another thing to be a wind guy.

Yasou is supposed to be a light fighter, he's supposed to be a melee-range glass-cannon focused on agility and speed. As cool as his wind techniques are - they don't inherently push him towards being a glass-cannon. They do many of the same things Braum's abilities do.

A projectile-blocking shield and team-wide knockup/lockdown would be amazing on a tank, especially due to the 3-charges wind-up benefiting from having the durability to build up 3 charges in a cluster of enemies while giving no bothers.

Yasou's heavy reliance and synergy with crit heavily discourages him from doing an Irelia and building tanky DPS, so rather than being a boulder that rolls over things, he actually wants to build to feel like a cyclone.

Unlike other glass-cannons like Yi, Fiora, Jinx, and so on - Yasou's AA steroid being crit reliant also prevents him from doing back-door cheese runs, and how it functions reinforces an ADC scaling pattern of strong late, weak early - seeing as double crit is pretty solid late and 100% useless early on.

When expertly played, Zed can kill his opponents before they know what even hit them

This basically means "no reflexive counter-play". And it's the major issue with most assassins when it comes to bad design.
