League of Casuals; what's the plan for map awareness and decision making skill?

I can't even reasonably expect my team mates at Diamond to have any map awareness or decision making skill right now. Literally none. I can ward for them, and most of them won't even see a gank coming unless I'm spamming pings.

This season and the previous season have been slowly removing these skills as requirements for winning games, and instead favoring binary match ups, team composition, and counter-picks, with a small amount of mechanical skill.

Is this what League is going to continue be, going into the future? Is the plan to completely deprecate every type of skill, so the vast majority who have nothing but mechanical skill can feel like they're succeeding?

my friends who are at diamond smoke alot of weed, they just play with tunnelvision and hope for the best. their mechanics are sick but they are "too lazy" to put effort in map awareness and other stuff. and i think they arent the only one at diamond with this playstyle, i gues thats why they dont get higher than dia 5 - 4 :D

In past seasons, you couldn't get past Gold on mechanical skill alone. It's sad that the game has come down to this. Even D1 last season suffered from this problem.

haha thats true, back in season 3 i was so proud of myself that i made it to gold V (back then where only ~10% of the player where gold league) and i was the only one of my friends back then. and im sure that people at gold were much skilled than people who are at gold now.

Is this a reference to mobility creep? Because yes it makes map awareness less important, and yes it sucks. Having to ward and watch the map just isn't as important when you can get back to your turret in the blink of an eye.
