It didn't take long for me to start complaining about never having enough keys for my hex-tech crates, but now I realize what will be happening soon. Soon I'll be running out of champions to get S ranks on and so I'll have too many keys for my crates.

Mark my words, boards. Within the next 3 months of so the complaints will start coming in about not enough crates.

Anyways, I'm sorry Riot. I understand what the plan was now, and I'll just enjoy this brief span of time where I can open crates at the same rate as getting keys before I begin racking up the crates

Or you could just get a few more champions. Remember, you don't have to get S on them, just play them when a buddy gets an S. Getting 52 champions isn't that difficult, especially if you get a few champion shards from chests.

while that's true, eventually there will be a shortage of champions to get S's on (or have teammates get S ranks on) and an abundance of keys

It doesn't help that there isn't a way (that I know of) to see what champions are still eligible for crates

The count resets at the end of the season, so you only need about 50. Likewise, the keys decrease in drop frequency over the course of a month (and then reset), so you won't get more than about 15.

If you look at the champ roster in your profile, champs with boarders have gotten their box. Also, if you hover over them, it says.

Check your champ list to see which champions you've earned chests for; they have a gold border on them, and if you hover them you can see the icon in the bottom right is lit up.
