I have a compromise for Senna, that I think people might like.

Okay. I'm generally arguing Senna is fine as support, and that adjusting her to get her out of adc would be a nightmare for her as support, and still favor her being an adc.

But, someone started a misguided argument with me about her W (He thought it scaled with her passive)

After I explained some mechanics and that it in fact didn't scale with his passive, he argued, "Her W range is too long. it needs reduced."

Well..... I started looking around to see similar skills to her W so I could cite their ranges to prove her W's range is fine.

BUT...... I did discover something pretty interesting:

Morgana Q:

Dark Binding TARGET RANGE: 1175 SPEED: 1200 COST: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 MANA COOLDOWN: 11

ACTIVE: Morgana releases a sphere of dark magic that travels in a line, dealing Magic damage magic damage to the first enemy hit and Root icon rooting them.

MAGIC DAMAGE: 80 / 135 / 190 / 245 / 300 (+ 90% AP) ROOT DURATION: 2 / 2.25 / 2.5 / 2.75 / 3

And then you have

Senna W:

Last Embrace TARGET RANGE: 1175 EFFECT RADIUS: 280 SPEED: 1200 COST: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 MANA COOLDOWN: 11

ACTIVE: Senna throws a globule of Black Mist in the target direction, dealing physical damage and sticking onto the first enemy hit.

PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+ 70% bonus AD) After a 1 second delay or when the target dies, the Black Mist spreads out of the target, Root icon rooting them and nearby enemies for a few seconds.

ROOT DURATION: 1.45 / 1.65 / 1.85 / 2.05 / 2.25

In other words, Dark Binding and Last Embrace are literally the SAME SKILL with some different effects at the end/width (Dark Binding has a wider skill shot than Last Embrace).

But..... then you look at the Last Embrace functionality and think,

#"Is 2.25 Second Root enough of a difference to make up for the fact the skill can miss its target, and still be bankshot?"

The skill has scaling Mana costs, Scaling Physical Damage Base, and a scaling Duration.

#What would happen if you took the Root, and reduced it to 1.5 seconds Flat?

In my opinion, that could help even out her adc performance, and make her a slightly higher skill champion, as 1.5 seconds is still enough for a good player to capitalize on using, while it gives her opponents a little more wriggle room to counterplay/get out of fish in a barrel situations.

Senna's ranges are generally fine and comparative to other champions. Her heals are expensive already, and generally aren't gamebreaking. Her self damage nerfs keep her damage and crit potential in check.

That's why I don't endorse touching those parts of her kit.

I would support a root reduction though, and that could significantly move the needle on where she's performing. much closer to 50%.

I can actually see this being the change that fixes the frustrating and egregious parts of her, I'd also advocate for an increase to her E cooldown so you have more windows to trade before she disappears .
