also the beginning of the season had massive LP gains where people got boosted just by playing games. My friend who was silver 3 player last season after 500+ games got to diamond 2 or 3 when it was messed up. He is still currently in plat 1 or 2. Riot screwed up ranked in multiple ways this season then after realizing they made mistakes just threw in the towel and said it will sort itself out. The problem is that it didn't and people are all over the ladder where they should not be.

He misses a few key points, one of the reasons ranked is also devalued is how match making is more interested in gettting a game rolling without taking skill levels into account at all levels of play, there are a few other issues like jungle being in a pretty rough spot to the point where people simply don't want to do it because its simply not WORTH the extra effort you have to put in compared to every other player for a rather mediocre reward which can all be negated by one laner that throws away a huge advantage you gave them and since you don't scale well you end up in frustration mode.

As an aside, I thought Neace left LOL for fortnite which is why I stopped watching him.
