That's the complaint I thought I'd see right away. I've only played for almost two seasons around (6.3). The mobility doesn't bother me. Mostly because I'm so terrible at this game she could be a statue and it wouldn't matter.

Regardless, looking forward to her release.

Disgusting seems such a harsh word, but I understand that's the way you feel.

A lot of players are expressing similar views.

However, I don't understand why it matters, as long as it's professional. I mean, that the character model is rendered in a way that matches the quality of modern gaming standards. I think it does.

I concede it seems not to match exactly to the modeling of other champs.

I pick the champs I play because I like their kit, it's a bonus if I like their model as well.

For example? I hate Teemo's base skin. Played him anyway. Sona? I really don't care for any of her skins, but I bought the DJ skin just to get away from the base skin.

Well Poppy's facial animations are great and really suite her. I just don't understand why Zoe's face contorts so much, her features are huge too. She's not a Yordle.

It matters because it's professional. There's no reason for her facial animation to look as bad as it does. Sure, gameplay is the real important thing but they have different people, entire teams I'd imagine, working on different parts of a champion (gameplay, visuals, etc) and like you said they're professionals so they should be putting out the best work possible. Riot has done better in the past with characters. We should expect more of them.

Not to mention it's 2017 now, comparing her to champions like Teemo that are beyond old (8 years!) is kind of silly. A much higher standard has long since been set.

And you yourself may not care about a character's looks, but lots of people do. I'd wager to say most people would rather look at something that looks good than something that's "disgusting." You yourself said you bought Sona's DJ skin to "get away from her base skin."

Looks DO matter, whether it's because a standard has been set and it's just professional to adhere to it or because it's just more pleasing to look at something that actually looks good.

I'm not claiming they don't. I'm just saying I don't find it or any thing in any video game disgusting.

I bought new skins for Sona and Teemo because I didn't like their base Skins. But it wasn't even close to disgusting.

I mentioned the older champs because their two I main, not because I hold them up as an example of excellence.

If you really want to get into it, the graphics are okay at best. I suspect they didn't go full out AAA graphically beautiful (Witcher ect.) for a lot of reasons, my chief assumption is that they wanted to reach a large audience of players whose machines could handle the graphics and to allow the game to play over the internet with the least amount of ping possible.

If the pushed this game to be graphically intense as say the Witcher how many people would be excluded? How bad would the lag become.

So it really comes down to a stylistic choice in my opinion. As I said I understand some may not like it, but it's professionally produced.

Btw it's not even out of PBE yet. Whose to say she isn't updated before her released.

I think you're missing the point. Nobody is saying the game should have Witcher-style graphics, we just want the characters to look good. Zoe looks fine for the most part, it's her facial animations that are nightmare inducing. They don't look good. There's clearly something wrong beyond how cartoony they are. They look like Mario 64 when you stretch Mario's face around in the title screen. It's not up to League's standards, that's the issue.

Its kind of amusing that Annies facial animations (And she was one of the first league champs to get them when they VGU'd her) extremely limited as they are, are better made then some of Zoe's

Same with Poppy...and Trist....and basically everyone with them.

Theres something clearly wrong with Zoe's ether the bone weighting is off or just the amount they're putting in but those facial animations need serious work

I am not missing the point, you and I disagree that's all.

My assertion about Witcher graphics was to highlight that Riot made a choice to keep the graphics were they are to allow people to play them on a broader range of machines. I never once said that the people opposed to this character model wanted Witcher graphics.

And since they made this decision, what all this boils down to is style choice; most of the people complaining about the model are complaining about a difference of opinion regarding style. And it's fine to disagree on those grounds.

The assertions I reject are as follows:

It's unprofessional.
It's disgusting.

Lastly, the champ isn't even released to the game yet. it's quite possible that this was just a video and not how the champ ill look. or maybe it will be.

They're like this because she's made to be seen from a top down angle of the camera.

Looking at them straight on is going to make them look a lot weirder.

I give Riot a lot of slack when it comes to champions, skins, etc...

This, I cannot overlook. She straight up looks like she doesn't belong AT ALL, her kit looks super mobile which isn't something we need right now, and she just sounds annoying. The worst champion thematically I've seen in a while. Possibly ever.

Her kit is only mobile if people around her try to be mobile. Her actual only movement ability is her Hole in the ground wormhole... The others in the video are all summoner's other champs dropped....

Lesson: don't use Summoner's en masse around her.

So counter build her and destroy her instead of being scared. Her kit and auto attacks don't renew bubbles if you don't use actives. If you starve her it's likely her damage is too low to kill.

She really doesn't. Her movement relies on people to use flash/ghost. Other than that, her only movement is her worm hole.

Yes but she has a double dash that either works on LeBlanc or Rek'Sai levels, its not clear whether she presses a button near the hole to blink back or if she has to be right on top of it, but it has decent range. Also all she has to do is threaten a kill and flash will be forced and she gets two blinks. She also has to go where the flash lands by looks, so you can bait the orbs into dangerous spots but in open areas that cause skirmishes/teamfights that are far away from towers she can dance all around by picking up flashes.

Assuming every enemy flash can be used she can have 6 flashes in a teamfight.

Champs like Kalista/Yasuo can hop more but these are pretty long distances given you have a psuedo tunnel and multiple flashes, it ends up being better in shorter fights.

This champ is mobile cancer cranked up to 11 and obnoxious tilt incarnate with her visual and aural aesthetics.

From Yasuo to Kalista and now this abomination, CertainlyT continues making champs that are fun for one player while infuriating the other nine.

I am already on the hater side. I've seen this type of hyper mobility before with Kalista, Rakan, Yasuo (Only when near an enemy wave), even to a degree of Vayne, Lee Sin, and Fizz (40%/45% CDR), the list can go further but these ones are the biggest offenders to me. Same thing happens every single time. When those champions become even slightly viable, they flip the entire game over.

Lee Sin, well need I say anything? Mr. Blind man whom determines and dominates jungle. Especially preseason then has to be nerfed to the ground, only to be op again and warp next preseason and sometimes worlds.

Fizz becomes rage inducing because of his troll pole, and is basically can never be balanced because he is always broken when viable.

Vayne has a history of warping the game dramatically. Season 5 she was the sleeper op goddess. Then near the end she was realized how op she was and became the all hates permanent ban Marksmen. She warped the game again when her Q became able to crit to literally 2 shot squishes. She always does this when viable.

Kalista. Passive. Nuff. Said.

Yasuo is just like Kalista but at least requires minions. Whenever he becomes even slightly slightly viable he just dominates his role. Also makes anyone face him just wanting to quit the game. Even when he isn't op or viable he is just like Teemo and is just a pain to deal with. When he is under powered his strat is to make the enemy rage and tilt which can work at times.

Rakan doesn't really warp the game. However as a support player fighting him is such a huge pain. I'll be honest though he isn't really as bad to me as the other people on this list. That and I would rather face him then a Blitzcrank, Thresh, Janna, or Morgana. So there are worse supports to fight. He is still rage inducing at a lot of times though, because he just seems to be immune to getting caught.

So regardless of balance these champions are a nightmare to face. Their mobility is too much to handle at times and they remove agency of their opponent. Agency is important, but mobility forces you to pick either the right champion or lose. Try fighting them as a Juggernaut. You'll have no agency and have to rely on either waiting till they screw up, wait at the fountain, or rely on your jungler. Relying on your jungler is a viable strategy, but you better hope he chose the right champion also.

Phew that turned more into a rant, just sick and tired of seeing this hyper mobile crap. It just always causes way more problems.

Except..... Zoe is only mobile when other people use movement items/summoner's..... so..... don't use them around her, or if you do, use them in a way she can't really utilize picking them up.

It's very likely the bubbles have a bit of a condition to them btw..... being it's her passive, like maybe that they activate immediately on picking up the bubble..... meaning she can't pick up a flash and save it for a few seconds.

She flashes 3 times in that fight. 3 flashes?! That seems more than a bit overkill. Has at least two mobility based abilities.

I know this video was probably set up so that the champs she killed were already almost dead or she was the only one with items, but I don't see how this champion will ever be balanceable as a burst mage. If she can burst she'll just be Le'Blanc 2.0, or maybe the hate child of Le'blanc and Ahri.

Cut and run. Give up on her being a burst mage, and maybe she can still be a kite or battle mage.

She only technically has 1 movement based skill; The wormhole.

The flashes stem from champs around her using summoner skills and her picking them up and re-using them. If you watch late when she's fighting Jinx, she using a Proto belt after picking up its active as well.

In other words, she's a pick to use when facing people with actives and to pick up summoner's in skill fights.

I'd bet she's super squishy, hard to play 1v1, and her actual damage is probably tier 2.

Eh, call me a hater all you want but the reality is that I'm playing the game less and less. I'm not interested in the characters and story as much anymore with stuff like Xayah, Taliyah and Zoe being released. Just looking at the teaser it's like Riot hasn't learned anything over the past 3 years.
