If you look on champion.gg, how many champions actually have this item in their build? The only champion who frequently builds this is Jax. Not even Riven and Master Yi (supposed "abusers") frequently build this item.

This item is not core on Riven by any means, and if you think it is then you're playing her wrong. If you think about her kit it makes sense. Riven is not an attack speed champ, and she does not benefit very much from the passive. She wants to jump into the back line and burst people, not auto attack them to death. It's better to just build raw damage and a few defensive items on her.
Leon41672 votesIt gives both raw dmg and defensive stats though. It has 60 AD dmg for starters plus some extra health. She benefits hugely off it's passive not because of it's atk spd but because every auto once ult is activated it reduces her cds even faster letting her stay in the fight since E is up more often not to mention her Q will never be on cd during that 10 seconds. This item gives her a huge advantage in dueling and sustains her very well in team fights because again it does have some health stats and helps let her get her E back quickly. Build Black Cleaver and Titantic Hydra and Riven is very hard to kill now unless hit with true dmg or AP dmg. You don't even need Boots of Lucidity anymore since you're already at your cd cap and can build Merc Treads to reduce cc, Swiftness for better chasing, or Tabi's with you need that extra armor instead. It may not had been a useful item before but I've found it hugely successful since using it. I don't always build it when faced against certain opponents or team comps but the item is no where near sub-par for Riven at the very least.
