This item is totally useless. It gives a useless amount of ap and magic resist and basically us the sad ugly twin to morrelicon

Compelling reasoning. Instead, leave it in, and let miss continue building a morello' when they are behind against a Xerath. Meanwhile I'll be Xerath with better mana regen, and will take less damage from them. Sounds good? Good.

That's actually a decent FOR removing it and is the reason why Riot has nerfed it in the past.

Athene's is deceptively strong since it has a lot of staying power and forces the enemy to either build pure offense to punch through the extra defense you've got or simply get Athene's themselves. It'd probably be healthier to promote riskier behavior for people who are ahead, but that's the problem with the system and the options available and not necessarily with Athene's.

I'd say it'd be ideal for Athene's to be core on NO ONE but an ideal item to build in certain, common situations. One example would be to remove the AP completely but cause spells to deal 25-50% more magic damage to minions and monsters.
