Sorcery Tree: Swap Nimbus Cloak with Absolute Focus or Transcendence

Tier 1 has no useful runes against AD champions / comps. Perhaps if Nullifying Orb was just a regular shield rather than purely for magic damage it might have a place, but against Yasuo / Zed / Talon / etc., it's absolutely useless. Manaflow Band feels pretty useless past early game, when mana really isn't an issue at all due to items. I generally only take it if I'm building Archangel's for a few extra AP, and even then it's not much. Nimbus Cloak is flat out useless for several champions like Xerath Velkoz and Malzahar, who are all rooted while they ult.

With the changes to Celerity incoming, Sorcery is more than ever the "movement speed" tree, and the synergy between Phase Rush, Nimbus Cloak and Celerity is going to spike damage up even higher than it already is. The free boots and stopwatch were moved to be on the same tree in Inspiration due to their similarities (and how they crowded everything else out), so why not do the same for Sorcery and make people actually pick between Celerity and Nimbus Cloak?

I just want my damn Ultimate Hat back.

Fuck.

I've been wanting this ever since the new Hail of Blades patch; Sorcery is really underpowered compared to Domination now.

Sorcery is pretty underpowered compared to pretty much every other tree, unfortunately. Most of the things it provides just aren't all that useful.

I find the biggest problem with it is that they got rid of Ultimate Hat, and now all the other options are pretty bad compared to the Domination tree. It used to be a gamble to go with Domination instead of Sorcery just because it didn't use to offer much for mages. I do like the idea of turning the magic shield (which is a huge gamble in itself) into a pure shield; even better, make it protect against true damage (although that's kind of weird since true damage can't be blocked by anything). Nobody really needs the movement speed that Sorcery offers aside from a couple acceptions.

Honestly, the more I look at the tree, the more it needs to be complete shuffled. Nullifying Orb is probably the most useless of the bunch and could be removed if Riot wants to stay with three runes per tier, or Transcendence could go in favor of Ultimate Hat being reinstated. Something like:

Tier 1 (utility): Nullifying Orb (Safety) / Ultimate Hat (CDR) / Manaflow Band (Resource Management) Tier 2 (movement): Celerity (General movement, but to a lesser extent) / Nimbus Cloak (Large speed boost on ult cast) / Waterwalking (MS & Damage for roaming) Tier 3 (damages): Scorch (Early game damage) / Absolute Focus (Full Health Damage) / Gathering Storm (Late Game Damage)

No. Transcendence is unique and needs to stay. It's way more useful than things like Scorch, and Absolute Focus, and even Nimbus Cloak.

Nimbus Cloak is garbage and needs to be removed or moved out of Sorcery.
