J4 Needs Help Early Game
His first clear is among the worst of all junglers...As a jungler who's supposed to do well early game and perform early ganks, he can't really do that.

what items do you start with? and runes/masteries
Making comment merely on observation from games I've seen him and friends who play him.
well tell your friends who play him to start talisman so they can heal up, he has good clears with that and good mana regen
They do, it's still bad
J4's first clear is literally worse than champions like Kayle and Sejuani. He can barely do 3 camps without dying even with Talisman and 3 potions.
i might have to test this
there's this rule about jungling, where you either gank well, or clear fast... and then there's lee sin, elise, etc. :P
There is actually ALOT of junglers that fit that role now. Jarvan is just one of those slightly above average gankers with a clear that an Ahri could compete with.
I think Ahri might even beat J4; at least she has some sustain.
It's odd, because I know j4 was a top pick at the trail end of last season. Jugger items were newer and more OP back then and the meta compositions were different...
However my jungle run with him this season felt AWFUL. I don't quite understand whats soo different.
This back when it was thought go
or die tho. Maybe I'll give him one more shot...
Can confirm. I am a jungle main and i honestly do not think i have ever lost to a Jarvan. His ganks are okay, but his clear is so slow and so unhealthy that he can actually be invaded by alot of weak early game junglers.
