"i don't gank losing lanes"

afk farms all game

protip being down 1 kill is not a losing lane.

being down 5 farm is NOT a losing lane.

when i jungle, i try to help the lane that needs it most. usually that guy that actually IS LOSING LANE needs a hand or he's going to be a complete liability in teamfights.

this isn't me saying "waaah im losing lane gank for me wahhhh"

half of the time i see junglers talking about how they dont gank losing lanes, they're too busy tilting after one death in lane crying "GG" and "feeder X lane" in chat.

junglers act like their job doesn't revolve around helping lanes that are struggling, BUT IT DOES. just like a supports job revolves around helping the team make good decisions and get good clean kills.

if your job isn't to gank, what the fuck is it for the 5 minutes and 10 minutes between dragons and baron. AFK farm and bitch at your laners for maybe giving up a kill?

This is also false

The junglers job doesn't revolve around helping lanes that are struggling

the junglers job revolves around exploiting map resources

ganking for losing lanes is just one of multiple strategies, one that typically doesn't pay off when said losing lane contains a shit player or a champ that has no chance of carrying

Can you expand on "exploiting map resources" a bit?

If I had to guess what that means based on what I've seen it means "ignore all lanes, dragons, rift herold, scuttle crabs, etc, and farm away while the enemy Jungler ganks every lane and takes every neutral objective."

I'm fine if a Jungler ignores me and gets something, anything else in exchange, but too often it seems like "I don't gank losing lanes" translates to "I don't know how to do anything."

It means avoiding an extra duolane and using the resources elsewhere on the map.

Traditionally if there is a threat from the enemy jungle the jungler will respond to this aggressively but this could also mean just taking the enemy red or blue

Traditionally if dragon is warded and the jungler is available the jungler will participate in the counterdragon or counter baron

Junglers do not have to gank and in some metas just don't gank at all. You get what resources you can and they do the same.

If a jungler decides to take on the role of the ganker that is a different story though I've actually had cases like just yesterday where the jungler's ganks actually hurt me more than they helped even though we got the kill.

btw when I jungle a losing toplane will often cry about how I don't gank for their losing lane even after I steal both of the enemy jungler's buffs, kill the enemy jungler, and countergank other lanes. A lot of times people aren't really paying attention to what you do.

There are times when you DON'T gank a losing lane. One kill behind and 5 cs behind isn't one of these times. A time not to gank would be when your bot lane is fed, and top lane is behind 4-5 kills. You don't gank then because you might give them a double kill, or they might get the kill (yes your laner might get some gold, but if they come back and kill your laner again thats 300 gold they just got for free). So sometimes you don't gank a losing lane, you gank the lanes that are ahead to keep them ahead, or you gank the lane thats behind as a team.

I don't gank losing lanes = I don't trust you enough to be an adult and give you the real answer to this and even if I did its probably long winded because I have never bothered to articulate my jungle strategy assuming I even have one. Hell even this explanation of why I wont explain it to you is actually fairly long and I would rather not have to spend multiple ingame posts typing this out to you while watching lanes.

Btw, yes being 1 kill or 5 cs behind IS losing. Even 5 cs is nearly an entire wave. Its not damning but the pattern tends to continue

protip being down 1 kill is not a losing lane.

Technically, it is (assuming equal farm).

being down 5 farm is NOT a losing lane.

While sure, it may not be considered a lost lane, therefore justifying your jungler ignore it, you are still losing lane lol.

If you have less gold than your enemy, you are losing lane. Regardless of how much, it's still losing. It's not winning. It's not tied. It's losing.

Finally, a jungle main who actually cares about his struggling laners, not a selfish one who only cares about himself and only ganks lane where he can easily just nab kills for himself.

Elemental dragons spawn every 6 min not 10, and there is rift herald and baron coverage to consider. You are over simplifying what the jungler has to take care of.

The first 5 min should be devoted to your first clear, and ganking pre level 3 is generally a cheese strategy that can set you behind in the jungle quite far. If you gank without having secured your first two buffs you will often lose one to an attentive enemy jungler.

You should be warding for your laners and scouting out the enemy jungler. Invading them and setting them behind is an objective in itself.

going 0-1 isn't losing your lane, but if you get solo killed 3 times before i secure two buffs, or you get killed in a gank by a jungler who walked right over a ward and was pinged out by a teammate, you bet i wont stop by your lane anytime soon.

just look 5 seconds at the losing laner, if he plays like a boosted animal just leave him

if he got unlucky, you can still gank him

Kiokami1 votes

you guys are so fucking nitpicky on what a losing lane is. its pathetic. one kill is not damning. unless it gets ignored and you let that laner get fucked and zoned out of farm.

5 cs is definitely not damning, and if you ignore because of that you're a piece of shit who tilts over any SLIGHT disadvantage.

edit; and SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT BOOSTING. holy fuck thats the new buzz word around here. everyone's fucking boosted now. god you guys are fucking sad. boosting is ONLY an issue at g1+

I only gank lanes where I can get a kill or assist. Jungle buffs can help a lot with that though, but especially if top's losing you can't really camp there because the enemy team would just do dragon. It's all about prioritizing right, and ganking a losing lane often isn't a good option to consider over the other options you have. Also it's not acceptable for a jungler to fall behind the level of the support (or enemy support if your support does badly) so you have to use your time efficiently, also if your level is lower than the enemy jungler your smite is weaker.

Sometimes it is worth to gank only to hurt the enemy laner. Assuming you can do that without blowing important cooldowns (your ult, laner's ability with more than 20 secs CD or summoner spells other than smite) or losing too much health, it can drastically change a lane with very light consequences for the jungler (at most, one camp delay).

balbraaksel1 votes

Although I agree, still other things take priority like knowing where the enemy jungler is, counterjungling, taking objectives and gathering some jungle buffs to gank with. The losing teammate isn't that reliable when things go wrong so a camp can go bad much easier, especially with mobile enemy champions.

Not if you're way up on CS and having taken a tower or two in the process. Moreover, It's not losing enough to make a decision never to show your presence in their lane.

you would have to have quite an CS lead for dying to not be "losing" I never said it was enough to make a decision, I was saying it was losing, and it is

When I play jungle, I gank for the lanes I trust to carry the game.

BIue Monk1 votes

At higher elos, junglers won't camp losing lanes because the risk is too high. They will try to get as ahead as possible with other lanes, and they will eventually help you.
