i was in queue for 10 minutes as support/fill.

i got 2 queues to pop. and i fucking didnt get support either time. fuck autofill

Adding another queue into the pool of queues increased the queue times, so they turned on autofill for everyone to combat this.

Those threads are from other 6 months ago tho... They already addressed those issues before the LCS. Why are they being re-addressed?

They did address those issues, but now that there's another queue added to the pool, they need to re-address them. The reason why people mostly aren't complaining right now is because of enabled autofill. Were it not enabled, I'm sure that we would be having much higher queue times.

It was mostly an issue for people master+ where they would be getting 40 minute queues average. And you know once something affects the challanger players it suddenly becomes an issue for everyone.

It won't be just a few minutes. Think of it like a line at a theme park roller coaster. You only have so many seats(supports) on the ride. Everyone else gets in line. The line starts short but as the ratio of your desired spot to number of supports grows, the line gets longer. Supports continue to have almost instant queue while everyone else just waits, and waits, and waits. Eventually the line grows so long that it takes more time waiting than you spend playing. Auto fill continually adds more seats to the ride to keep this from happening. Without it, it will end up unplayable for casuals with limited playtimes that arent playing support outside of blind pick. And blind pick is cancer so I'd just quit altogether.

From what I've been seeing, queue times have dropped from about 4-5 minutes to about 2:40 minutes. I like what you're saying but I think it applies more to normal draft than ranked.

Ironically, people whined about queue times more before there even was Team Builder, meaning there were only 2 queues at the time for SR.

These are the people always complaining ladies and gentlemen. You should honestly learn all roles even if you don't play them you should be familiar with them and how they work. How are you supposed to work together as a team to accomplish anything if you don't know your teams role. Are you an ADC main or something? you know the support is the team support not just yours.

Auto fill just means more dodges. I spent 30 minutes with people nonstop dodging because of it, it does not make for a shorter queue at all. Worse is if someone plays the game and is terrible in the role they were autofilled into. It completely destroys any semblance of matchmaking, and undermines the foundation of the game.

Eventually people will get so frustrated by autofill queue dodging or bad teammates because of it that they will just stop trying to play the game at all. New season has not even begun and I am already feeling like playing some other game because of autofill.

Agreed. Everyone just dodges now. Additionally, I heard that if you get auto fill you are supposed to be auto fill free for 5 Q's. Does this take into consideration dodges? Because I am pretty sure dodges count towards your 5 Q's which is kinda garbage.

No it doesn't. I've been filled into support once. Then had my Autofill protected games, one of them was where I had 5 constant dodges and it still didn't count.

In the end I would like a role I queued up for, but if not I'm fine I guess. The thing that bugs me is how much people tend to be dodging now. I don't know how many times I've gotten a role I wanted, and someone ends up dodging because they got autofilled. I then get into another champ select and I'm a completely different role than what I was before.... FEELSGREATMAN item 3070

I love how little people know about what's going on here. First, autofill was implemented for high elo, not silver (which is where you are currently). Second, 10 minute queue time in the elo that is literally defined as the average (and therefore most common) rank in the entire game means that you are most definitely playing at really weird hours (off peak). Third, did it ever dawn on you that you aren't the only support main in NA silver tier? Also, did you ever think that perhaps 2 games is kind of a shitty sample size?

they really need to bring fucking team builder back. if i want to play x champ in y role, then let me, i don't care if i have to wait 20 minutes, if that keeps happening ill CHOOSE something else, forcing me to end up as a support when i hate that role just so people who main a yasuo get fast games is bullshit.

team builder gave me the freedom to play what and how i want, and put the onus on me for being picky about what sort of team i would be playing with. choosing support used to be fun, i could veto and dodge shitty team comps and avoid the lobby trolls. if i was dead set on playing a jungle or mid i went in knowing i was going to be waiting a while, if i wanted and instant queue game id pick support and be picky at who id join.

as a captain it allowed you to actually captain a team instead of getting stuck with troll picks or those champs you wanted to ban from your own team comp (support singed for example)

the system at its core gave us choices and put control in our hands. if you didnt like the wait time it was on you to choose something that would get you a faster game, and no one ended up playing a role they hated or were unprepared for.

This has nothing to do with the feature called "auto-fill". You choose to pick Fill yourself... Auto-fill is the feature that forces you to get a different role from the 2 you selected.

Also.... either you're Diamond+ or I don't believe you.

10 min for queue is hard to believe even if you pick Mid/Top, with Support/Fill that's just plain impossible unless you're at a very high MMR. And as for not getting Support, it's strange, but still, 2 games proves nothing. You're supposed to get Support ~95% of the time, but that's still less than 100%.

I have had something like this. Queue Support/fill got top. Do not mind top but was just very shocked that I got a popular spot by going fill. As for people not wanting to do more then two rolls. Sure you are low elo. The nice thing about autofill in non ranked games is it gives you a change to play new champions and learn more of the mechanics of the game. You need to know your enemy as much as you need to know your self.

People can also uninstall the game. If they are QQ this much about being autofill. Then they are clearly toxic players and we will be better with out them.

I queued for support and top. Got into a match in roughly a minute and a half, someone dodges, and I get into another match accept, and apparently, I got autofilled into ADC.
