"ur lower rank so everything you say is invalid"
im so fucking sick of this mentality.
i got into a game, and say ward your lanes, and don't overpush if you want me to gank.
right away i hear "lol you're silver im gonna carry you"
fuck these people.

I'm going to be honest with you guys. Diamond is a joke this season. Theres no value in getting there except for maybe your own self-esteem. I've met so many diamond players this season that don't belong there (some of these people are on my friends list) but they got there from abusing the dynamic queue system. Some of these players acted really cocky as if they deserved to be in that elo. You might be asking "well how do you know they're boosted"? I've been a diamond 3 solo q player for the past 2 seasons so I know what mechanics a player needs to climb and be in that elo and these players clearly don't have those mechanics. At the end of the day, don't always take what some random diamond player says seriously if they're trash talking you because they're probably boosted. /endrant
is duoin with another friend abusing dynamic que? Cuz ive been playin with my friend lately and we use the kat and amumu synergy and win almost every time
I don't think it's so much the fact that people are using Dynamic/Duo queue, but rather the fact that they're using to it as a means to have others carry them to a tier which they themselves don't have the performance to compete in.
No one cares if you duo/dynamic to get to a rank if you can actually play at that rank and do well. The problem arises when you yourself aren't good enough to be there, and only got there because you had others who are at the level or above (ex. a bronze 1 player having his plat friends carry him to gold through dynamic queue and smurfing, then turning around and under performing every single match due to lack of skill)
Idk if this helped or not, but I tried lol.
It's called boosted animals.... Jesus when I see people calling me trash and they've been playing for 3 years and they're in silver 3...
I personally know two, one of them was low bronze for last 2 season, the other one Silver 4-5 for last three season and are both Diamonds with Negative KDA.
Dynamic Queue does wonders.
Would Barry Bonds listen to your high school baseball coach's advice on how to hit a baseball?
Would Barry Bonds listen to your high school baseball coach's advice on how to hit a baseball?
He would listen, out of respect, and if he learned something or was reminded of something that would get his head back into his game, he would implement it. Learning comes from every level of experience. You can learn some potent advice from the simple, candid minds of children, just like you can learn nuanced information based on years of experience from your grandmother. Not being willing to listen to those who may not have the same level of experience as you denies you of potentially learning something new that a fresh mind has a different take on. Granted, some of the information from the inexperienced may be redundant because you've already learned it, and some information may not be the best. The key here is to communicate with those people about that information, and you'll both end up learning things and being better players. If you shut down learning completely, you will stagnate and never get any better.

me: Hey friend, allow me to give a bit of advice.
Person: You haven't even finished your support item yet, you shouldn't be giving "advice"
Me: Hush...... This doesn't concern you..
Friend: ^
me: When you can make a custom game and try to practice CS, note how much you can get in 10 minutes and try to improve.
Person: Uhhh.. yea.. yea.. that's right.. add bots later to simulate harass sometimes.
Me: Just because I suck at the game doesn't mean I don't give good advice to people.
Person: I just didn't expect... that advice..
your lower rank or you are lower rank i am confused :3
one thing these fuckers should know
and Plat in Silver is just a boosted animal getting what he deserves
I'm a Plat in Silver that got boosted from Diamond ELO to Silver ELO, playing ranked games solo, getting camped by 3-man premades every other game. Thankyouverymuch.
I have that happen to me every game top and do you wanna know what happens in the end? i'm still a positive kdr and mvp on my team. Here's the catch, my team takes my legs and drags my whole body expecting me to carry them. Then continue to fuel my rage by shit talking about what I was doing "wrong". :D
Me: "Alright, just watch for my ult bot lane, and go back in when you see it. It's a free win at that point."
Support: "Sure."
ADC: "Gotcha."
Mid: "Really? Do you even know what Shen's ult does? What the fuck, you're going to get bot lane killed."
Me: "...do YOU know what Shen's ult does?"
Mid: Goes silent, most likely to search something on google
Me: "So...?"
Mid: "Hey, top, might need a gank if I get into a tough spot."
Me: "That's what I thought."
Seeing your winrates from last season, I'd suggest playing rank more often. You could definitely hit Gold and get season rewards.
wait, gold gives bonus's? I must attempt to reach the gold, then
You get the Victory skin for whatever champ they choose.
Which champs have this so called victory skin?
Season 1 was Victorious Elise Season 2 was Victorious Janna Season 3 was Victorious Jarvan Season 4 was Victorious Morgana Season 5 was Victorious Sivir
tbh, I've NEVER seen Victorious J4, and I only found out about it when I looked them up to tell you about them. I've seen a couple Jannas, plenty Morgs and Sivcs. Never seen an Elise but I know it exists.
EDIT: and I'm not sure about the order of the seasons for season 1,2 and 3.

I belive the order is as follows: Season 1 - Victorious Jarvan Season 2 - Victorious Janna Season 3 - Victorious Elise Season 4 - Victorious Morgana SEason 5 - Victorious Sivir
That would make sense since shape shifters (
) did not come before season 2 for programming technology means iirc
Also "your 4/7 so don't talk to me"
I agree with your point but there's also the idiots telling the 20/0 diamond smurf that they know more than them
10000x this. There is a difference between a gold 1 with a 47% win-rate and a gold 1 with a 70% win-rate for example. It is important to distinguish between the two players because the first person is probably not a true g1 player and the second is probably a much higher than g1 player. You need to know which you are talking to before evaluating what they are saying.
I once had a someone tell me:
"I'm silver 4/5 (I forget which one) with a 57% win rate. I think I know what I'm doing." When we were arguing about the viability of tower diving. Even if you've got a huge winrate, the rank still isn't very high. Not to mention people seem to hoist up the "RANK DOESN'T MATTER" flag when a Diamond-or-higher player calls them out on their BS.
One thing you need to understand though, is that there is (usually) a good reason why a player is ranked higher than you. Unless that reason is boosting, a higher rank means more skill, more game knowledge, better mechanics, etc. I'm not justifying the idea of putting other players down because they are ranked lower, but there's something to be said when a bronze player starts complaining about balance issues that are literally non-existent in any other elo.
So it's kind of hilarious that the first example used by someone who wants to say higher rank = higher knowledge was of baseball. I was a baseball player, and the dude/chick who used that example clearly wasn't. And to the extent LoL wants to truly develop a sports platform, this kind of thinking needs to actually learn from things like baseball what baseball has known for years and years: the ability to perform a skill =/= understanding of a skill. The ability to play the game =/= the ability to break down the game, understand the game, or conceptually strategize in the game. Mechanics =/= understanding, and performance is predominately mechanics + basic knowledge while coaching is predominately high level knowledge and understanding.
For a low ranker to try and coach a challenger player on mechanics is stupid. But to claim that a low rank player cannot understand the game at a high level, or even at a higher level than a challenger player, is just plain false.
Some of the best coaches I have ever had in baseball were nowhere near as good as I was at actually playing the game. For me to have ignored what they say - much less tried to pull 'performance rank' - would have gotten me laughed off the field by literally every single baseball player worth anything. Players who don't understand this are bad players. On the other hand, I have seen some awful coaches who didn't know anything about the game but insisted they did, and players can recognize (and ignore) this when they encounter it. Executing the mechanics of the game and understanding the game are two different skills, related but not the same.
Hmmm great example, but srsly never met low ranked players who had any great knowledge off game strats or did a great advice. You didn't mention that these coaches you have mentioned have deep knowledge off the game and put great effort into that. Many off them trained coaching at least in sports they do.
I'm in agreement with the OP. As a math/computer science enthusiast, I will often nerd out and try to optimize my choices in video games for purposes of min-maxing. An example of this in League would be realizing that Kayle has higher DPS with AS quints, not AS quints, or that Lichbane rush on anyone is overshadowed by Ludens rush (due to Lichbane needing AP to scale while Ludens has base damage). WIt's End is actually good on Kog'Maw, Steraks is bad on Lee Sin, etc. List goes on, yet anytime I criticize someone for making these choices they say that I'm silver and therefore have no clue what I'm talking about.
Maybe you don't know how annoying it actually is when someone is telling you what to do, especially someone less experienced.
It's annoying, but it's a great time to tell them why they may be wrong.
It's not only about being wrong or right, it's about how annoying it is.
Like, ''don't push your lane'', well duhhh, it's obvious that I might get ganked, but it's a risk I'm willing to take in order to win my lane.
And why waste time typing in order to tell them why they're wrong? You're risking losing cs, poke, trades, overall lane pressure just to enlighten some guy who might totally ignore you.
In the words of Foxdrop, sometimes it's best to suck up your pride and just say "Okay no prob." or if someones flaming you to say "Yeah your right, my bad."
It stops the conflict immediately and makes the other person feel better. Whether they are right or wrong, it helps get LP.
In addition if you just suck it up and respond without any sarcasm or something, they trust you more and are more likely to help you when you ask for it and trust you when you go and do something.
qtpie: but sometimes, you just gotta flame the shit out of your garbage fucking team
Telling someone they are wrong in League of Legends is literally like talking to a cat.
When I play norms I play with bronze/Silver/Gold and I don't remember not being flamed after telling them shit as nice as ''You should try the new Korean Lucian build, its much more effective in mid to late game''.
In 96% of the cases I get answers like ''stfu asshole I know how to play Lucian** I main him**''
You just insulted pretty much every cat in existence.
One of my cats loves to sleep on my bed, but to not get his fur all over the sheets, I gave him a towel to sleep on instead. He got the idea after the first try and on the rare occassion he doesn't sleep on it, I just call out his name, look at him and he's like, "Fine, human" and repositions himself onto said towel.
I'd need to whip a typical League player for a week, to get the same results. That's how dense they are.
People still pull that to cover their inferiority complex here in the boards.
In my opinion, the difference between ranks is 30% Knowledge, so game knowledge, mechanics, attitude, etc, and the remaining 70% is execution of said knowledge. A Bronze player could easily have equal the amount of knowledge of a high gold player, but simply doesn't execute it as well.
I agree, that mentality is trash.
let me guess. was this guy was gold 5 0lp?
These are the same people that when you make a comment on a thread that they know they cant intelligently refute or add value to the conversation, they just go look up your profile to see if they are higher rank than you and if you are then thats all their comment is based on and mentions nothing about the topic.
What's even better is people with higher ranks have one of the worst opinions and advice, and that's respected simply because they are higher elo.
As a gold player who has run 2 diamond teams in tournaments and is a free lance Analyst for any rank player. Can confirm, people just don't understand. Just because I may not have the mechanics of a challenger player, doesn't mean I don't know how it works :P /Upvotethread
"ur 10 lp below me im higher elo than u and i know better than u"
Remind them that the fact that theyre playing in the same game with you means they have the same mmr as you. If youre bad, theyre just as bad by that logic.
This isn't entirely true (though it usually is). It is important to distinguish between players actively climbing and players who have their mmr settled. So for example, a player at your mrr with a win-rate of 60%+ is still climbing and has a skill higher than their current mmr whereas a 50% (or less) win-rate player is probably settled or worse than their mrr dictates. It is important to note before you dismiss what people are saying (we can all learn something from higher mmr players (though flaming is always bad).
im so fucking sick of this mentality.

Well in their defence, alot of the boards are full of people complaining that X champ is broken as fk, nerf nerf nerf. Yet theyre silver. As a silver I see them as having barely gotten the hang of a handful of champs
"Kat, please don't go into a 1v4 ... let me tank for you at least."
"I don't need advise from a Gold II support."
"Oh, alright. Well I guess I don't know everything almighty Plat player. Please, tell me how you'll survive the next fight without ... oh I don't know, someone who's willing to CC for you? Someone who can land a ult that stuns people and all? Clearly i'm not fit for this game, but please- go right ahead and go into the fray."
"...."
Seriously this happened to me in one of my games awhile back. Some Plat 4 Kat in my ranked game thought she could kill people but kept dying as a result. Wouldn't consider letting someone that built tank try to help her survive teamfights. People are so egotistic that they'll ruin your game because they think they're a marvel in the League community but they forget it's a bloody MOBA meaning it's a team game.
I love when people say, " I'm plat I'm going to carry. "
Then they get destroyed in lane/the game.
Love it.
