RIP building crit items on AD assassins

It was fun while it lasted, but I think that it will be for the sake of the game being healthier.

That said, it was fun to build things like item 3031 + item 3046 or item 3031 + item 3087 on AD assassins like Zed Khazix Kayn (blue) Talon after building lethality items. The burst damage is insane if you manage to get a crit (especially with Statikk, but PD is viable due to its defensive properties). Depending of the circumstances you can manage to literally one shot enemies. Imagine Khazix with his passive + item 3087 + item 3031 + item 3147. That is an insane amount of damage in a single auto, even if the enemy is not isolated.

This build has a downside, however. Because you are not building defensive items like item 3026 or item 3156, this build is very risky. One misplay or CC means death. It is also a very rewarding build, because assassins' burst damage tend to fall off late game if the enemy squishies are building defensively and/or have shields. It also means you can dent (but not kill) tanks.

After the 8:11 changes, however, you can expect this build to not be viable anymore. This is because the only items with crit chance will be attack speed items. Attack speed isn't an interesting stat to stack on AD casters. In addition, Infinity Edge is losing its damage multiplier in favor of true damage (which isn't all that good against targets which already are squishy). Lastly, crit items are also being made more expensive. Stormrazor will be possibly a viable option as a crit item for assassins, but I expect that there will be better choices. At very least, the changes to Last Whisper will compensate.
