Kha'Zix could potentially be changed into a late game assassin if some changes were made

  • Allowing the isolation radius to decrease with levels. Currently it is 425 and it could go down to 300 at level 18, or 350 (which is the old isolation radius before it was nerfed to 500).
  • "At level 11, towers no longer count as allies for the purposes of denying isolation (I suggested this on another thread)"
  • Evolving Void Spikes now allow the heal to scale with X% of Kha'Zix's AD/bonus AD/mana (either that or double the base heal)
  • Evolving Void Assault now reduces the cooldown between casts to 1 second, like it used to be before the nerfs.

With those changes, or some of them (I don't know if Kha'Zix could be broken with all of those changes, feel free to discuss), Kha'Zix not only would be a more viable choice for laning, but he would also become a late game assassin. I say this because other assassins can be completely countered and neutered by some factors, for example: Zed by purchasing Zhonya/QSS, LeBlanc by purchasing Banshee's Veil, Katarina with hard CC, Rengar with the fact that he has no reliable escape once he assassinates someone - Kha'Zix would have none of the late game weakness that other assassins have, but he could still be countered by proper positioning.

Wait, towers count as allies? If a Kha feels like he can dive he'll get killed because he, reasonably, assumed isolation was dependent on units? That's messed up.

Also, Kha definitely needs a buff to his upgraded void spikes. There's like no reason to get them. An additional slow is NICE but its not insanely increased damage or a huge jump or...well the ult is a bad example but its still so much better than Void Spikes because it actually gives Kha utility instead of just a little improved CC

Yeah, they used to not count as allies before, but they nerfed that because Kha'Zix was "too strong" at time. This was actually not what was making Kha'Zix so strong before, and Riot never reverted this nerf.

Also, a very good reason to currently evolve Void Spikes is because you will fire 3 spikes in a cone instead of firing only one. This can be helpful at teamfights or if you are not able to consistently land them at single targets.

Yeah the triple thing technically works as intended but the problem with Void spikes is that they don't do enough damage and logistically Kha can't get the heal from all the spikes, so they just sorta...hit 2 more people for the pittance of damage, which is fine, I guess? It really needs an Evolved buff, is what Im saying.

They could nerf the base damage and scaling, then make it do double damage if the enemy is isolated.

which is funny because season 4 Khazix was all about the W max and evolve for worlds.

What makes you think he wouldn't have a weakness? His weakness is he relies on killing his target for an escape, other wise he does very little damage and gets blown up. I think these changes would be fine. If he did become too strong with them, he should just be nerfed in other areas such as his W or ult CD etc.

I didn't said that he wouldn't have any weakness. I said that he wouldn't have the same weakness that other assassins have.

To compare for example:

Zed can be hard countered by QSS and Zhonya since he is reliant on his ult to kill someone. On other hand, Kha'Zix's combo cannot be avoided with QSS or Zhonya. You can stack armor and HP which will reduce this damage, but you cannot do that as a squishy champion, which are meant to be the main targets for assassins.

LeBlanc's combo can be neutered by Banshee's Veil. Kha'Zix can be somewhat disrupted by Banshee's Veil since it blocks any spell, but Kha'Zix cooldowns are low enough that this should not be a serious problem. Also, he is AD, so the magic resistance is useless against him.

Katarina is completely shut down by hard CC since she is so reliant on her ult to do damage and she is reliant on her passive to be able to escape. Kha'Zix, like Katarina (and any other assassin), is weak to hard CC. However he is much less weak to hard CC when compared to Katarina, especially since he can actually afford to buy item 3111 item 3140 which are items that can counter CC. Also, Kha'Zix doesn't have any channeled abilities.

Rengar has no escapes once he kills an enemy. After killing someone is very likely that he will be killed since he is so squishy and vulnerable to CC. Kha'Zix doesn't have this problem; as long as he get a kill he can escape with no problems, and his ult still allows him to potentially escape even if he doesn't get a kill.

Reduce W base damage and scale slightly, allow it to apply passive like it used to. Done and Done.
