Is Riot happy with the Rengar rework?

I do not know about you guys, but i personally like the older one better. Yes he had his problems, but he worked fine the way he was and he wasn't as snowbally and overbearing as the current one is. I also think the older one was easier to balance overall. He had pretty much the same win rate as the current one, but he is far more annoying to play against (as shown by his all time high ban rate).

I like the current version a lot. It fits the fantasy really well, particularly with taking a trophy from each enemy. From a fantasy perspective, the current Rengar is bar none the best.

I also like it for balance. I feel it's easier to balance now, especially since his stealth is Camouflage. Imo, the only outstanding thing they should address is the guaranteed crit, but even then, it can be played against by having tanks sit by the vulnerable people.

But taking a trophy by itself is incredibly snowbally. Yes it is cool. Fact. But it creates massive problems for balance. And his camouflage does not feel like a utility, because everyone can guess with their positioning where you are and you rely on your crit to do damage, otherwise you do pitiful damage. (basically from a utility tool, his ult turned into a potential nuke that alerts them to your positioning). Also i really dislike that his Q is no longer an auto reset. I personally feel like it was a core part of him...

The Q is still in auto reset. AA, cast it, then AA again, it resets your AA. They mentioned it when it was first released.

Also, the trophies are snowbally, but they've always been that way. And it's hardly the only 'snowball' mechanic in the game.

You're so focused on his guaranteed crit being the problem, when the problem is him being played as a bruiser and not the assassin he was intended to be played as. An assassin should not have a cleanse, cc immunity, nor the ability to heal 100% of the damage you recently took while still doing damage. If you're complaining about the crit, I'm led to believe you are somehow going against Rengar players that are not abusing the broken bruiser Rengar at the moment.

If all it took was old Rengar needing to have a seperate trophy per enemy, why couldn't they have just done that minior rework and left everything as is? It's still not easier to balance now because tinkering damage, reduces the threat of bruiser Rengar but also nerfs assassin Rengar. Tinkering with the cc immunity and % heal, takes us back to square one of old Rengar. Tinkering with the ult, requires modifying the camo/stealth update.

Riot has their hands tide and have no clue what to do with Rengar from my prospective. I can understand the situation they are in, but they need to find a better way to handle the problem and keep players, mostly mains, updated on the direction they are working towards. Like I said before, I hate the situation Rengar mains were thrown in and cannot believe those that playtested the update allowed it to go through before it hit pbe. Cannot imagine how morde mains felt after their rework because I immediately ditched morde after that rework.
