The ask riot new years solution was funny, but disappointing

The game is probably in one of its lesser balanced states. It would have been nice for Riot to have been more serious, especially when community communication has fallen off since the holidays for longer than it should have been (yes Riot isn't a bunch of robots, but 3 weeks is way more vacation than most of us get).

Meddler and his team have made bad decisions after bad decisions for 1,5 years. They are completely out of touch with the game. I simply think they are not communicating because they are clueless about what to do. It is time to get a new balance team. Season 6 was the worst season ever and I thought it was impossible to achieve but season 7 is on its way to become even worse.

New balance team 2017 could potentially be League's biggest blessing.

They tell us if we complain without suggesting a solution, that they won't look your way - but if you do propose a balance change with solid rationale & math to support it, it often gets overlooked.

Just because Riot doesn't respond to something, doesn't mean it wasn't seen. And just because someone has Math and Rational, doesn't mean that it doesn't stand up in another context.

I don't know why is the Esports section so true?

Because all of Riot is responsible for balance....

Riot is a company. That company decides were to allocate resources. So while employees working in the skins department do not directly affect balance, they are taking away resources from the balance department.

Because everyone with graphical modeling talent is equally skilled at coding.

You seemed to have completely missed the point. I thought I wrote it in laymen's terms, but I'll try again.

No, the person that makes skins isn't necessarily good at coding. BUT, every person rito hires to makes skins is 1 less person they can hire to fix their spaghetti code.

Make sense?

Honestly, Riot makes enough money that I don't think they have those issues. If they need more people to code, they'll hire more coders. They have teams de-spaghettifying the code right now. This isn't like construction, where 30 man hours is 30 man hours. A team of 4 coders doing 20 hours each isn't comparable to 10 coders doing 8 hours each.

Honestly, Riot makes enough money that I don't think they have those issues.

And the world produces more than enough food to feed the entire population, yet people still starve.

The problem isn't the revenue rito is bringing in. It's the amount they're willing to spend. Just look at support ticket. Submit a ticket and it takes you a week before actually getting a person. Because they don't allocate enough resources to run that department properly. If they have a set budget to run their company, every skin team member is taking away from other departments. So it's not like they're willing to "just hire another one". They're in the business to make as much money as possible. Hiring an additional coder would not make them more money unless people stopped playing because of said coding. Spaghetti code was just an example. This applies to player behavior (not the "toxic chat" ones, they have PLENTY of resources going there, but other player behavior such as trolling), balance, and pretty much everything.

  1. The New Years resolution post was made by all the groups (Narrative, Balance, Esports, etc), so when he says "Wtf Riot, why aren't you serious about fixing the game balance", there are many other people who aren't involved with it who also made the joke.

  2. Hiring more people doesn't solve balance. It doesn't magically result in better changes... Riot doesn't have limited resources either, they hire and fill all positions to the max, they don't have some limited budget where putting people in skins negatively effects balance. That's not how business works...

  3. It sounds so F**king entitled when you act like "Alright, funny joke, but why aren't you fixing the game?", when they probably had the entire winter break to write that joke of New Year Resolutions. Like, seriously, how rude do you have to be like that?

Oh look, another guy trying to circle jerk the "entitled" buzzword.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

I don't know about this circlejerk, but it fits here. "Why aren't you fixing the game for Me/US/The Community. Why are you telling jokes when you could be fixing the game?"

Sure, game balance is shit, but F**king hell, take a joke as a joke without acting like you're owed something.
