Get Vel out of the bot lane

Theres currently no counter to Vel bot lane. He outranges all champions besides Xerath and he doesnt rely on gold that much because he has true damage. All 3 of his abilities have some form of cc in them. I hate playing support against one because theres litterally nothing I can do. I will just get poked out of lane eventually and I lose all ins with champions like Leona.

Leona shouldn't be losing to him since her ult counters his ult. He's countered by all-in sups and heal sups. I agree he needs to go, but I wouldn't call him uncounterable.

Do i hate playing vs vel koz support? as adc i do kinda, it becomes real bad when he's accompanied by ashe or ezreal. i'll have to focus on farm while i get a barrage of poke thrown at me. As support, vel koz really isn't that hard to dodge, as long as you remember it kinda extends it's range at the point it splits up.

Is it unbeatable? no.

Is he a problem for leo? How the fuck are you even losing to him as leona. Just all in his ass and he'll die. If you're a pussy leo who plays for peel you're gonna be useless in the matchup, but why aren't you playing alistar in that case?

Has no counterplay. 4% pickrate, barely 1% banrate, 50% winrate. Loses all-ins with Leona. Who is literally his counter. Smh.

It's funny how everyone wants mages out of botlane but no one wonders why they are there in the first place... Lethality itself ovebuffed assassins, they did not need lethality to work in the first place. How about an item that gives mages ap,armor and mana and also has the ninja tabi passive and MAYBE that will bring back mages where they BELONG in the MIDLANE.

As a Vel'Koz main I can tell you how to play against him.

  • Vel's Q range is extended due to geometry. When he aims sideways (or 45 degrees) and recast the Q, its range gets extended. That makes it an equal to xerath's Q. However to fire it and recast it's not really all instant. The 1st Q is slower than the 2nd recast and its recast is a little telegraphed making it easier to dodge and even predict.
  • Vel'Koz may have slows but he doesn't mean they are easy to land (because his counter is high mobility)
  • his main counter in support would be Nami, Blitzrank, Leona, Alistair, and other champs with good CCs.
  • Vel's true damage is only scary in the mid and late game. However thanks to dark harvest you'll have to be scared from his early game.

As a Vel'Koz main myself I hate how he's played support because he belongs in mid lane. Hell, I even refuse to play him support. Although keep on mind, losing lane doesn't mean you'll lose the game. Vel'Koz doesn't have hard CCs or utility.

That's why he's in bottom lane. Changes to mages have made bottom an arms race, and it's going to destroy the most fundamental meta LoL has ever had:

Laning.
