So I looked at the Riven rework

And it looked freaking awesome. Too bad Riven mains everywhere cried, batted their eyes, and threatened to switch to DOTA so they could have their old OP as hell Riven back.

Seriously WTF Rito? I know it's hard for you a lot, actually, it's probably hard for you ALL the time. Don't touch a champ, and you have half the players screaming and cursing you cause you won't nerf her. Attempt to nerf her, and you get the mains bitching that you are "nerfing her into oblivion" and that she "won't be playable anymore", but frankly....I don't care...I mean that didn't stop you guys from nerfing the crap out of Azir, or Kassadin, or Kha'zix or Zilean, or from reworking Mordekaiser. Seriously you have a huge fraction of champs that are hardly played outside of bot games or teambuilder and you were giving one of the most potent and boring top laners and interesting twist and you let a group of mains hate you out of pushing the button labeled "import to Real Game"?

Seriously props to whoever came up with the Riven rework ideas it was good. Still worked like a Riven, still felt like a Riven (to lane against) but toned down how bursty she was.

You're an idiot. That rework was a buff for her that no main would have been weakened by, however it's a gross style.

"AHA! Her passive only stacks one charge now! No more QQQ AA AA AA for you Riven mains!"

You hear that? it's the sound of people who use Q AA Q AA Q AA laughing in the background. Not to mention with her ult edge interaction she can just jump in and ult the backline for max damage without doing anything else, as opposed to now where she has to charge in (Squishy as she is) and hope to do damage. Quit crying about Riven and just learn to play against her.

P.S. That rework was (I'm almost 100% certain) by CertainlyT, the same guy who made the recent reworks we've had that include all the champs banned at worlds. You really think this is going to be a nerf?

Wrong, she can't just ult the enemy team for max damage, cause when she does it deals damage off of edge comsumed with a max of five edge stacks (500 technically).

Many people agree that the riven changes were a NERF to her general burst assassin playstyle...you know...how she plays almost all the time now. However they agree that it was a BUFF to her sustain in lane.

But I guess that doesn't matter to you cause you know everything

P.S. I don't care who the hell made the update, or who they updated last, cause the rework pooked cool and gave playing riven a bit more skill then pressing bittons. But you MUST agree that it's unfair the riven mains get to diffuse this change that would be healthy and yet morde mains had almost no say.

And you're going to ignore all his other points? Riven's rework damage on anyone who can AA cancel slightly is fucking sick

As in broken op sick or as in its sickening how my auto attacks feels like I'm hitting them with a limp fish?

What are you even saying? What sustain did it grant her? And yes, I think it's fair that the people who main a champ in her state have a say. Even Morde mains don't want this new Morde, they want the old one back and he should be changed back to how he was. And what people? You? Believe me, that was a buff and I'm glad it's gone. All I see every day are people like YOU crying about Riven. You think she's OP? Play her. If she is, you're gonna get into diamond for free. If not, you learn her weakness. I'll give you three big weaknesses to her right now. Ready?

Riven beats Darius more often than not.

Also, according to Box Box the Riven changes were a buff, and made her more frustrating to deal with.

I told him it was a buff and he thinks it's a huge nerf.

One champ is not a weakness. I hate when people claim that [insert champ here] is balanced because [insert champ here] counters them cause the logic...well...just lacks logic.

I'm not saying that every champ should be able to lane against every other champ in any lane, cause frankly that would be impossible, but a champ that only has one other champ as a weakness is kinda stupid.

By sustain, I don't actually mean sustain as in heal (forgive me that was my error, I phrased is wrong) I meant some players think that this takes a bit away from her bursty assassin fighter and turns her more into a fighter character.

Yes I've played Riven. Yes I won games. But you know what I did after 3 games? Stopped playing Riven. I'm sorry but I don't find her to be interesting, engaging, or challenging enough to main.

The biggest part about her I hate is that shield that scales off of 100% AD...just wtf?

Darius isn't her only weakness, but he's strong at the moment so he's your best bet. Not to mention she needs that shield since poking her is more damaging to her than any champ. She has the lowest health regen out of all of the "OP" champs people complain about these days. (Yasuo, Fizz, Kat, Riven)

So the thing is, the rework was actually a ridiculous buff for her, and didn't effect her mobility or tankiness at all, it only made the disparity between Riven mains and non mains even greater, which really accomplishes nothing aside from some bronze balancing, which isn't a real thing.

I agree that the idea of actually giving her some kind of resources to manage so she wasn't so boringly easy to learn and play effectively is a very good one, this just wasn't it.

But honestly they either need to just nerf her stupid mobility or the fact that she has two forms of reliable hard AoE cc for free that also does tons of damage. Let her keep her ridiculously high damage output and stupidly good scaling, just make it so she can actually be kited by nerfing mobility or hard cc, having both is just retarded.

I fail to see how the touch up was a buff. Can you explain?

Hay5eed1 votes

I kinda see the problem now

Before : passive grants charges per ability used (up to three), a charge is consumed on AA, dealing 20% to 50% physical damage After: Passive grants 20% extra physical damage on the next auto attack per ability use (not stackable), AND gives 20 Edge, Riven gains damage up to 10% based on Edge she has, she only loses Edge if she hasn't used her passive on an enemy champ in the last 10 secs

IMO: Too easy to get Edge stacks and hold on to them

This might be the best thing that could happen to the game.
