TBH I think the only reason to pick Xerath over a real siege champ like Ziggs is for the quotes lol

Nah, his gameplay is fun in its own unique way too. He trades mobility for range and damage, true for a lot of champions... but he's one of the few to do this by actually slowing / rooting himself for it. He's not just designed with less mobility, he actually has to temporarily give up mobility to gain more range and damage.

That moment when Ziggs pokes better than Xerath due to having abilities that are actually difficult to dodge, not to mention spammy and high damage, yet doesn't give up as much mobility, utility, or zone control.

It's really subjective. There is an OTP in diamond+ for pretty much every champ you could imagine, who played that champ for over 3 seasons.

Just you. He fulfills the gameplay fantasy of an actual piece of artillery. Lots of fun for plenty of people.

His highlight moments are long range ults (using them to peel for allies, secure objectives, or take down targets) and max range Q's (potentially with Flash to secure kills). Other than that yes, he's pretty boring but effective.
