Give me a good reason not to dynamic boost people

KirbyCake··83 votes·4,847 views

I see no reason to play solo since there's a higher chance of opponent team having a premade than my team. Also if your team consists of more solo players, there's a higher chance they were dynamic boosted there just because winning solo is so hard now. Solo players have to deal with huge odds stacked against them by having a higher chance of facing a premade and having boosted players?

I'd rather log on a smurf and dynamic boost instead. I see no reason to even try to climb now that ranks mean nothing anyways.

There is a thread on reddit discussing boosting and what you can earn from it in terms of money.

Since the chances of being caught selling ELO boosting is close to zero there is new market for this now.

oh? I wonder if my silly ass can boost bronzies into gold for the rewards.... hmmmmm

Parallelity10 votes

You can't actually get banned for boosting as long as you don't get on someone's account. Since dynamic queue is playing with friends no login required

magic pole1 votes

Yeah, my main account is plat 1. I only played the placement matches on this account and got gold 3. So I played with my high silver friend to dynamic boost him to gold for the skin and whatever.

It's funny, we win 9/10 games when we play together. Then I have to go or whatever, I look at his match history, and once i leave his W/L ratio drops to about 2/3. Dynamic boost at its finest

i won't do this because im shit at league but link? just curious.

Spaceman5pff13 votes

There is no good reason to not do this, whoever you are "dynamic boosting" still has to play those games and not muck it up badly enough to lose. Being carried takes work, just like carrying. Being carried requires you to enable the person with the highest damage output. You have to do your best to cover for their mistakes while not making any yourself.

Honestly, I see more people that know how to carry than who know how to be carried, the latter of which is arguably an equally valuable skill.

I've climbed so much more easier this year playing solo in Ranked.

Got my main from silver to gold

and my smurf from bronze to silver

... All this in just a matter of 2 months.

If you're not good enough to climb, you won't climb, regardless of solo or dynamic.

Eevee In A Jar3 votes

2 months is a lot of time for just 1 division higher TBH but as it is your first time congrats. And no that's not entirely true. The difference is some players ALWAYS queue up solo. It's how they are. It's how they've always been. It's frustrating when you go against a premade of a smurf or something. But you just clearly stated your highest rank is gold. So your opinion on this matter is really not valid or important at all. TBH dynamic queue premades don't really affect people until higher ELO. I can see it beginning to hurt me and I get diamond players in my games 50% of the times. Solo Q players are at a clear disadvantage against dynamic premades. That's a fact. Dynamic Queue helps players in lower ELO but hurts players in higher ELO. probably around 80% of players are Gold and under. So you can see how majority of players support and benefit from this. The only thing is it hurts competition the higher you go; implying you need to start finding premades/abuse FotM champs and strats/etc as much as you can aka you must start conforming yourself and changing what and how you want to play feeling less freedom and less fun. More and more vet players are thus starting to hate the game.

DracosKasu1 votes

FoTm champ was alway popular and alway exist this have nothing to do with dynamic queue. When you are solo you need to understand that you cant carry a game by yourself. A small group of 3 will alway block the feed player but people ignore it and then blame it because they still refuse to learn. Also right now tower are quire squish so if you turn your team into a 4v5 indeed you gonnat lose.

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

I'm not saying FotM champs are popular and existing BECAUSE of dynamic queue. The point I'm making is players begin to do things they may not want to do like being forced to play the only 3 popular champs at the moment and rinse/repeat, making the game less fun for these players and thus having a falling out of the game. I'm just stating what I observe in other people. I don't know what you are talking about at the end and how it is relevant to what I'm talking about though.

The problem in this situation is Smurfs. Hate Boosted players? Have Riot crack down on Smurfs, because Boosted players can't be made in Dynamic Queue without Smurfs.

The instant you Smurf you give up all rights to complain about Boosted players on your main.

Tysmin7 votes

what about people like me who use a smurf to play with really low level friends so they don't end up being matched up against people who are level 20+?

DrCyanide3 votes

If you are playing Normals with people who aren't level 30, you obviously aren't part of the problem.

For situations like that, Riot needs a handicap feature, where you as the level 30 experienced player take a hit to your stats (gold earned from CS, damage dealt, etc.) in exchange for playing at the new friends level.

The new player experience sucks, and it's even worse without a friend, I'm painfully aware of that. But surely there's a solution that doesn't also impact ranked games negatively for all.

angery pout1 votes

The stat thing is a bit weird from a balancing perspective. New at the game doesn't necessarily mean bad (especially since League is generally easier than other MOBAs in terms of picking it up.) The only handicap I'd actively encourage are related to runes+masteries since those are gated by level.

Dehitay3 votes

It's kind of impressive that you managed to get far enough on Riot's bad side that they specifically coded the game to have less of a chance of a pre-made being on your team.

Mr Fidori3 votes

Where are all these people queuing up solo and getting matched against premade teams? The largest premade I've ever faced without joining up with friends myself is 3 people, and usually it's just the occasional duo.

dunkeroni1 votes

When 4 people on the enemy team are all part of the same club, and so are 4 people from your team: you just got ropped into a premade game. This happened to me playing top lane, and the enemy support was the 5th on the other team. So I got ganked constantly because the enemy team was a 4-man (meaning there's like a 95% chance that they would be against a 4-man), and because I had a different club name they knew that I was not part of the premade on my team.

Mr Fidori4 votes

Yeah, that does happen sometimes, but not as often as people around here claim. Plus, why would it be any different if the premade 4 on your team went and ganked the solo enemy? People always complain about things that happen to them, but never point out the 50% probability (and occurrence) when things go right?

dunkeroni1 votes

Because the solo player on the other team was not in a solo lane, they had some measure of protection against unbalanced targetting.

As for the probabilities of normal queuing, by joining as a solo player you have guaranteed that 20% of your team is not in queue with anyone. That said, it is the edge cases that are the problem, not the regular games unless the issue is someone boosting, which is what the OP is talking about here.

Assume first that the game is not plagued by uneven premade setups. Then assume there is a duo queue that is one high-level player boosting a low level. This implies that one person on either team will be carrying, and another person on that team will be feeding. Yes this premade can be on either team and may be to your advantage, but in either case it unbalances the game due to the disparities in MMR across the teams. This makes games more snowbally, more hectic, and less enjoyable.

Mr Fidori3 votes

You are right in terms of a boosted player, which I didn't really target in my original comment. But someone being boosted is kind of an edge case. It's a large problem, but still affects no more games than a troll or AFK. Every so often you get a game that has one of these unfortunate cicumstances. Not to say that it's a good thing. I was more or less addressing the contention that solos regularly get matched against full premades.

Also, I get that people can be boosted to a certain extent in lower divisions, but from Plat on up, you can't even queue up with people that are too much better than you.

dunkeroni2 votes

Again though, it is the existence of edge cases that devalues the entire process. Trolls and AFK players are nearly the same as before, but now there is another issue to contend with.

As for division skipping in premades, a Plat player cannot queue with a Silver player, but a Gold player should be able to invite both, avoiding the restriction.

Mr Fidori3 votes

Yep. You're totally right on the edge cases thing. I just wish that some people would admit that it's at least not a regular occurrence. But it is a glaring issue nonetheless.

And is that really how it works? I was under the impression that if someone tried that, it would still prevent them from doing so, because of the difference in division, regardless of who the room owner is. I wouldn't know -- I have very few plat friends.

LazerSquirrel3 votes

That doesn't work. Everybody has to be within one division of each other.

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

It DOES work. Want proof? Look up my match history. My malphite game with 2/4/1 Top renek gold 4, premade trist plat 5 and premade soraka plat 2. A gold 4 just queued up with a near diamond. Congratz, great game. Against our gold to low/mid plat. Soraka carried this game SO hard... But oh well keep on denying the obvious. This season is crap as is the DynQ

LazerSquirrel1 votes

They were within a division of each other... everyone in their premade was either plat or gold, but what Dunkeroni suggested was false. He said that a gold could invite both a silver and a plat to the same game. That doesn't work.

ProtestTheTruth1 votes

The point is that 2 -5 people can be grouped and have better teamwork than you can with randoms not paired on your team. 3 out of 5 games i get 2-3 people grouped a game. Not only that. Most of the players are on smurfs to carry others. This has become the norm for LoL.

The Whamboozler2 votes

Even if that's the case it still makes being the solo guy into the abused spouse of the game on each side. This is why people don't want these premades in the game. Not because you end up all solos vs a premade, but because being the solo player in a game with two four mane premades suuuuuuuucks. Being the only one not coordinated with your allies blows, and 80% of the time you try to do something to make a play or something on the enemy you'll be dealing with the crushing weight of 4 bros all bearing down on you. And that's if they don't actively prey on you for being the weak link.

So your options are either to primarily fight the OTHER solo player, or to just accept that you're on the short bus and just here to watch the premade do it's thing with your fingers crossed that you got the better one.

Mazariamonti1 votes

I've yet to have that happen through almost 150 games.

JustShootMe1 votes

I may be a little late to the punch, but I'm only in bronze 3 and I see it in at least 1 every 3 games. Four people with the same club affix next to their name. I just started this game when kindred came out, but i can tell a big difference between a pre-made, and 4 solo players. Even if i do solidly in lane for the first 10 minutes of the game I am able to do little, but farm and watch the map for a chance where i won't have 4 people in my lane.

There's 1 benefit from Dynamic Queue: You can now make a job out of boosting strangers to high elo, just do minimum wage or $1000 an hour to duo/triple/quad/5 man with some friends and strangers to get those strangers out of bronze! Riot have opened up more job opportunities boyzzzzz $$$$$$$$$$

one day you're gona boost someone with your smurf

and some time in the future, on your main, that shitter is going to be on your team and he's gona feed the unholy shit out of the other team in your promos

and you will lose

and that day I will huehuehue so hard that they'll have to deport me to Brazil.

In the name of XwX. Boost all you possibly can. Cause riot makes it so blatant obvious that they dont give a fuck anymore about their hardcore player base.

chessman2 votes

unless you're ranked at the very top of the ladder, it's quite rare that as individuals you will get matched against a premade team. more often you will be an individual, with a team on your side, AND a team on their side, but that's still a balanced match.

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

Gold 1 with plat mmr. It happens too often i'm solo against 3+2 premades. or 3 solos + 2 premades vs 2+2 etc. etc.

Because you'll flame your friends for being bad and get banned?

Because teaching your friends how to play around a good teammate isn't exactly the same thing as boosting them?

Are you offering free boosting or something?

I don't think Riot cares about it anymore unless you go on their account to boost it that way.

Tis a shame really.

Makes getting to gold or plat even less of an achivement.
