Win rates mean nothing

It doesn't matter if a champ has a high win rate or a low one, their balance doesn't have anything to do with it.

For instance, some of the champs that are considered to be the most powerful ones in the game have low win rates. That doesn't mean that they need buffs, its just that since they are powerful or considered powerful, they see more play and will end up losing more games from people who don't know how to play them.

High win rates don't mean anything either. Just because a champ has a high win rate doesn't mean that they need nerfs. Most of the time, its because they aren't played by anyone except people that play them A LOT and know everything about them and are very good with them. This means that they see higher win rates since they don't have as many FoTM scrubs playing them for power value.

52% isn't a high win rate, thats winning barely more than half your games.

I personally have a 74% win rate with Nautilus, whom most of the community considers to be in need of serious buffs. Its not that he's OP; its that I personally know how to play him to maximum effect and so I win by far the majority of the games that I play with him.

TL-DR Why the fuck are you nerfing Sona?

So what is a good indication for power level then?

KD in lane?

Community QQ?

Sustained high % pick rates across all elos means that everyone views this champ as "having advantages to the other champs that could be played"

Actually it does have something to do with it. But then you've also got to look at pick/ban rates. KDA Damage dealt Healing dealt Crits ect.

The formula isn't just one digit. It's an equation that goes on for quite a bit. What are their numbers. How do they interact with the comp that you want them to interact with? Do they fit what you want them to fit? People saying they can balance the game better than Riot, are essentially saying they can read Riots minds and know what Riot wants more than Riot does. If people tried picking up a table top RP and tried making some balanced characters on there, they'd realize things aren't as simple as many make it out to be.

I agree winrate doesn't mean anything. Ive played akali when she had 45% winrate and then boom everyone started playing her and she hit over 55%.

The same thing with olaf too. I have 78% win rate on olaf on another account and everyone just call him trash.

If they have a high win rate, but low pick rate, it means little. If they have a high win rate AND a high pick rate, it means the champion is being picked for their power and the new players to the champ are also able to win without learning much. THIS usually means the champion is too powerful. If the champion has a lower win rate and high pick rate, but has been proven to be vary good, they could be "OP", but require learning to do so.
