I for one hope Spear of Shojin is viable on Marksmen.

The idea an item is a "bruiser item" and that another class using the item is some sort of blasphemy is the same boring logic Riot seems to use with their balancing of the game for the last few years.

I miss having item options. Spirit of the Eldar Lizard Miss Fortune, Ghost Blade Draven, Atmogs Graves, and so on... Even the popular Blue Build Ezreal was once a troll build, and now people can't stop complaining about it!

Maybe I don't like the way items have been created to be "these items are for these classes!", the forced support items, the forced jungle items, changing black cleaver to be a bruiser item, as well as Trinity Force. Changing Abyssal Mask to be a Melee Item, when it used to be viable on all kinds of mages.

Every time they add a new item they potentially peel back any of this boring, cookie-cutter build pathing characters have. Same items every game every character, aside the rare specialists such as Teemo, and Gangplank.

Stormrazor is one of the most fun things to happen to League in ages, and I'm having fun discovering all the champions it can be built on, if it is the least bit viable.

So what if Spear of Shojin will allow a few Marksmen to be tanky? What if Atmas is good on somebody like Zed? Will that break the game, or just break peoples (including some at Riots) strange obsession with catagorizing items and putting them on little shelves where the other characters shouldn't touch them??

do you really want kaisa to be indestructible when she dives into your backline?

Yes, Considering Kai'Sa kit is specifically designed to take advtage of 3 stats, I don't think her delving into just one stat should be all that bad for a niche strategy.

I feel like this item will be broken the most on Xin or Irelia. It synergizes way too well. Quinn could use it I guess, but I don't think she would want it right away, since there are more important things.

everyone who buys sterak/tri is going to get shojin instead when sterak gets nerfed

or they're just going to use both at once lmao

Tbh once it's bonus damage, Steraks will just be another AD item. Its scaling on the BEST champs is only about 78 AD, so it prob is better to move to a different item.

It's strongest on champs who stack AD high..... like Camille Fiora Illaoi Graves Jayce Khazix Kayn Riven etc..... if they can find a slot for it.The champs you mentioned generally don't have enough AD because they go items like item 3078 which are weak on it or crit items, or a jungle item like item 1419

They'll be able to use it, but it won't make them the tankiest.

I personally can get around 600 AD on Pyke , so it's gonna be insane on him, if to just survive those dives long enough to get out alive.

On him 600 AD = 68.8 Reduction after taking out his Base AD.

And that gets tripled if he basic attacks in a group fight. Gives him time to get his E and W back up and get the f out.

I'm thinking Pyke is a perfect fit for Spear. Champ who can't build AD can get tanky off of an AD item.

I would try Atma's, but Atma's prob calculates its damage off actual HP not pre reduced HP..... we'll have to see.

I'll definitely use Atma's on Ornn ...... omfg the synergies.

it's based on maximum health. not bonus or base. so whatever the number after the slash is, that's what it's based on

Azadethe1 votes

I know what it's based off of. But I'll tell you something: Pyke's gameplay DOES track his "Max" HP before being reduced. It's in the coding. I've had it bug out during a game and show me the pre-reduction HP. In other words.... it's a question of..... does the game do the item's calculation first, or Pyke's passive calculation first. We'll have to see. (I can't PBE atm or I'd try)

I do know that Overgrowth calculates based on your Prereduced HP, because the AD you get from having it scales up with monster/minion kill stacks. If Atma's behaves likes that, I'll be running it every game with Conditioning, to help combat that squishy scaling Pyke has. Even without it, On Pyke, Atma's will have between 37 - 81 AD on Pyke, so it's not exactly bad.

yea cause we want a certain champion to be nearly unkillable while dealing % health true damage.
