1 year absent player: Is the game worth coming back to?
Hi guys, I haven't played the game for 1 year (I'm still Lvl 31). Is the game worth coming back to? Honestly just curious since some pieces of me misses the game. Thanks for reading.

No.
I enjoy the game. Right now, every lane feels important to the whole game.
well honestly depends on when you first started playing LoL.
If you started anytime before S3 I'd say no its NOT worth coming back to and you should go support competetors instead. This game is a shallow shell of what it once was because now that Riot has expanded from small indie into big time success they've gone full Electronic Arts in shitty greedy business practices. If you've started at like S5 then yeah sure. The game is literally being tailored and narrowed to appeal to new players and people who have never played a moba in their life.
Basically LoL is on the decline so in a last ditch efforts to keep stocks high and Tencent daddy happy Riot is making the game as viewer/new player friendly as possible to ensure those LC$ bucks. Lootcrates and gacha events are the norm.Super high damage as a replacement for cold calculating skill. No strategy or pragmatic choices laning phase is all but gone. Faster games. Bland and safe champion visuals and rehashed skinlines. Streamlined champion designs. Extreme Favoritism when it comes to balance making sure that certain champs remain overpowered the ONLY exception is when those champs threaten LC$ (like Azir,Shen,Kalista,Ornn,Kench ect did) at which point Riot is all but forced to take action nuetering them so they can ensure ratings and viewership remains high enough that investors and sponsors continue buying in. Items are like trading card decks now. They completely hold your hand and tell you what to build by guiding you though key-words _ "Heal and Shield power, Energizer,Lethality"_ ect so even a sea sponge can put together a working build . Hell man Infinity Edge is literally connected by the hip to other crit items so like I said. Great if you are a new player HORRIBLE if you are a old player.
Runes Reforged also happened which was a gigantic mess that just bloated the game with tons and tons of damage and has taken the meta by the balls where champions move up and down in tiers depending on how they can abuse keystones. Players and Streamers are quitting left and right because Riot refuses to step off this path they've taken.
And you know what the worst part is? The worst part is that people will attribute all this to simple incompetncy as though Riot has no idea what they're doing.
Yes a company that uses tons of hardcore data, charts, studies and excel sheets, A company that LITERALLY MADE AN ARTICLE PIN POINTING WHY PLAYERS HATE CERTAIN CHAMPIONS YET TO THIS DAY HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT THOSE ASPECTS. You think Riot didnt know that runes reforged was a mistake when they plainly said during the creation of the Mastery system that effects had to be kept low impact to ensure the system does not take over the game? You think Riot hasn't heard a million and one viable suggestions to fix Yasuo's windwall by now?
No... these guys are professionals who would have you THINK they are dumb because greed fueled amorality is a sin much worse than stupidity or incompetency in the eyes of the average consumer.
In actuality Riot is very smart but not wise.
SMART because they know EXACTLY what they're doing and are secretly acting within the company best interest when they do things like Release
then drag their feet to balance her as they give her a new skin barely 6 months from release. Or making sure to avoid popular champions like
during their little rework crusade in the name of "balance"
UNWISE because they chose the path of all other money grubbing companies like ATnT,EA,Time Warner and Well's Fargo which is that its better to be rich but hated than revered and poor which at the end of the day does nothing but add kindling to your own effigy.
SMART because they realize kicking older players who already own everything to the curb for a new audience would make them a lot of cash. (Old players dont buy new champs with RP anymore and already have a expansive collection of skins.)
UNWISE because they forgot TONS of games have tried this whole "appeal to a new audience" schitck before time and time again and as always it never works out in your favor. You only end up alienating current audience and fail to generate enough attention from other audiences.
but then again maybe they have no choice nowadays. Maybe they expanded too much and such greed is mandatory to keep things running smoothly globally especially now that runes no longer exist to strong arm people into buying things with RP..
Either way yeah.... Its not worth it to come back if you are an old player. Riot is falling down to their last few legs and its not pretty watching them try to stay afloat. do the opposite and stay as far away as you can hell go over to Dota2,SMITE,HoTS or HoN. LoL had a golden era long ago but now its in the past whats left is nothing more than a mutilated beast that needs a merciful coup de grace.
I feel like a lot of people will tell you no because there seems to be a lot of general discontent with the game at the moment. However, I would advise that you try it for yourself. I personally still find a lot of fun in playing this game, especially with friends. You might also want to try out new champions if you don't have fun playing your old mains. Maybe they simply aren't suited for the current meta. Anyway. Try it out! First-hand experience is worth all the online comments you could ever get. :-) You've got nothing to lose other than perhaps a few hours.

Yea, honestly those who disagree or say no are very same ones that play the game none stop, the game is still fun and enjoyable. As it always have been. I don't even know why you're seeking advice when you can just see for yourself. Its not like one's opinion will stop you from playing anyways.
You can come back for Nexus Blitz, and nothing else.

Depends on what you liked about the game and who you liked to play. There has been a LOT of change in the last year, and some champions are just not the same.
If you didn't like it last year, you wont like it now.
That's a decision for you to make based upon what YOU want.
This is the sort of post that is just going to have people talk about themselves, not what you want (however, how could anyone else even know in the first place). They are going to say either that they still play or, as this is the boards, they are going to use this post as a tool to indulge in their frustrations, not your experience or opinion.
